Leaky--Needed to be tightened
I bought this blender jar because the Glass one I had shattered and left glass shard's all over my kitchen as well as what I was mixing. I am lucky no glass got in my face, however this is a story for another day.The base unit still works to I figured I would get a metal container. I also ordered another blade assembly. The items arrived today, a day late, and I immediately opened and put the pieces together. I then filled the container with hot water and liquid soap to wash it out and test for water tightness.Well, all I can say is I am glad I only had soapy water in the container. It leaked from the top and bottom. I tightened the base and tried again. This time only the top leaked. I find that I have to hold the top down tight to prevent leaking. I can only fill the container 3/4's full, otherwise it leaks no matter how hard I hold the top down.I give this whole thing 2 stars simply because it will not shatter and I guess that is something. If the base didn't work, I would buy a new "commercial grade" blender.Update:I bought a new "Commercial grade" blender and the base died. I started using this again and discovered two things:1-Don't fill to close to the top2-Make sure everything is tight. If I follow these rules, it works very well. It continues to be here for me even after my new one died. I will upgrade the rating from 2 stars to 3. If they would make a tighter seal on top, it would be 5 Stars.

Pretty Darn Good
And that's just what it is. I saw another review that said they use it for protein shakes, and mine purpose is not too terribly different. I do a blended coffee drink every morning instead of plunking down $4-5 at the local coffee shop and the blender's glass jar just wasn't cutting it. So I grabbed this one and gave it a whirl (so to speak). I would have given it 5 stars but I've got the Oster blender that has the reversing motor thingy and when I used it as it was shipped it reversed the blade right off! (there's a nut underneath holding it all, and apparently when the motor goes forward everything works as it's supposed to...but when it goes in reverse it unscrews itself!! So I swapped back to my original blade from the glass jar and it all works wonderfully. Minor monkeying aside, it's solid and works well. The only other thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars was the lack of measuring markings (cups, oz, whatever) that the glass jar always has.

Great addition to my "new" Vintage Osterizer.
This makes enough for one serving at a time, so take that into account. We've used this to make chocolate milk shakes and it worked perfectly. I used the milk shake blade instead of the ice crusher blade and it worked great! It's very easy to clean too. I like cleaning blender jars on the blender. Add a drop of liquid dish detergent and a little bit of water...1/2 cup or so, and put it back on the blender and blend a few seconds. Pour it out, rinse and dry. Easy! While this stainless steel blender jar is a great item and I really like it, I would be remiss to not mention how it was shipped to me. It was shipped in USPS Tyvek mailing envelopes and not in a box. It was wrapped in one Tyvek envelope and put in another to be addressed and shipped in. Seriously? It's a miracle it made it to me with any dents or broken plastic pieces. I just think that needs a mention. Something like this really needs to be shipped in a box.

totally love it
I would just wish for a tighter base...and a tight fitting lid...and a sharper blade...apart from that it is just PERFECT....LOVE IT....Stainless steel is non toxic and safe to use...and I will try swapping the blades of my glass jar and try...i am sure that would work....I am going to replace all my glass jars and replace them with this one. Will order 2 more and complete my kitchen. We need blenders a lot...for smoothies, for making spice mixtures for Indian curry and also for ginger garlic paste....and I am scared of glass ...if it breaks, it is so much pain plus stressful to clean up. I am happy I got an alternative to my glass jars because I LOVE OSTERS. Previously I had Cuisinart and what a waste of money that was ! It is sitting in one corner. I will recycle it soon.50$ down the drain :(Anyways, all is well that ends well. Inspite of minor complaints, I am happy with it.

Great Addition To Your Blender!
For me this is one of the best additions to the kitchen after good knives and quality pans. I make a lot of Protein shakes regularly. I find this much easier to hold and hand clean in the sink than the standard heavy glass jar. I bought the Blend-N-Go cup as well and found the capacity was a little too small for me, harder to clean up, and left you juggling around with a loose blade assembly. The only improvement would be to add a thin long clear window to show the level and volume markings on the outside. There are markings on the inside but they might be difficult for some to see. That is the only reason I didn't give it five stars. Otherwise I am very satisfied with this product.

Simple steel blender top.
This has no handle and the o-ring sealer broke almost at once. However, it works and is easy to clean.

Nice and light!
Works great and washes out much easier than the glass one that I have. I did notice that I have to peek in the lid more often since I can't see through it to tell if it's all mixed yet, but that's because it's not clear. The upside is that it's not as heavy so occasionally I take it off the blender and give it a good shake or two to mix the stuff at the bottom with the stuff at the top. You can't do that very easily with a glass blender jar!

Good option but bit expensive
My glass jar has broken, that's why I tried this product. So far good although bit expensive. In this price you could have got new blender. But thing is that.. you again will get plastic or glass jar.Pros:1) Good stainless steal product.2) Light3) Fits the mixer right4) As the glass jar is broken, I used the original blead and bottom parts which perfectly fits to the steal jar5) comes with original ice-cutting blead which you can use as backup.Cons:1) The lid (upper part) is loose. This point is most discussed -ve point abt this product. If the manufaturer will fix this then he would get 5 rating. My sincere request to GoodMan to look into this loose upper cover for better customer satisfaction

I needed something that could easily take food and boiling water right from the stove ...
I have tested this product now a few times...it works perfectly. I needed something that could easily take food and boiling water right from the stove (i.e. it would crack a glass jar), and this works really well. Fast deliver too.
