The Democratic Party was founded by Thomas Jefferson and other influential Anti-Federalists in 1792, and championed The Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s. The most common symbol for the party is the donkey. The origins of this symbol are unknown, but several theories have been proposed. According to one theory, in its original form, the jackass was born in the intense mudslinging that occurred during the presidential race of 1828 in which Andrew Jackson was sometimes called a jackass by his opponents. A political cartoon depicting Jackson riding and directing a donkey (representing the Democratic Party) was published in 1837. A political cartoon by Thomas Nast in an 1870 edition of Harper's Weekly revived the donkey as a symbol for the Democratic Party.

They can go low, but my flag flys higher!
I live smack dab in the middle of conservative country. I'm on a very high traffic street, with a large yard, and 6 adorably huge 20lb french lop bunnies that roam freely in it. Us Montanans are all very friendly 'meet your neighbors' type of folks. My rabbits attract multiple people to gravitate towards my gate daily. I'm usually quite happy to talk the passers-by's, and let them bring their littles into pet and hand feed the buns. I'm quite firm in my beliefs as most are, yet I'm always down for friendly bantering. Even having running jokes with some regulars who say, I should build a wall to keep wild bunnies out, and I say not until there's free vet care for all. As much as I love the friendly Republicans who keep me witty. I've had a few downright nasty neighbors who are shocked by my liberalism, and choose to try and berate me 'right'! This lefty has chosen to instead air my views loud and and proud. No need for discussion. I'm still with her, ObamaBaby, DumpTrump, 25th The 45, bunnyluv!
