Go with an IPS LCD over TFT LCD for car camera monitors every time!
I recently purchased a 7 inch TFT LCD monitor and decided to find one with IPS technology. This type of screen is mostly found on professional field monitors because of its high contrast/wide viewing angle. I was confused by the Amazon listing which stated, IPS, but the specifications listed it as, TFT LCD. I submitted a question as to the proper specs. It looks like they have updated specifications to match. This is definitely an IPS screen at the lowest price I could find. The end result is you get a very good picture depending on the video source. I use this as a backup camera monitor in my car. It is far more visible and different types of lighting. I've connected high quality HDMI video with surprisingly good results for such a cheap unit. I've also connected inexpensive backup camera which still looks good considering the low quality of the camera.

The display works perfectly when connected via HDMI to a Raspberry Pi; however, I give this 4 stars because I was never able to get the VGA to work correctly. Despite playing with all the settings (resolution, overscan, etc.), the picture was never centered and wouldn't fit properly on the display when connected through VGA.Also, the TFT monitor text on the upper-left corner is kind-of tacky and ugly, but I removed it after some very persistent rubbing with acetone.Overall, this little display works well for a Raspberry Pi and is a great price.

Great little portable screen.
Great little screen. The speakers were surprisingly loud, and have audio via HDMI. The screen is thicker than I expected and the base can be attached to the bottom of the screen or to a slot on the back. The power connector is NOT a standard 12v 2.1 x 5.5 mm jack. It is much smaller, maybe a 3 or 3.5 mm jack. I haven't been able to match it yet.The AV connection is via a headset-type 3.5 mm jack, and it comes with male and female AV cable adapters.

works great, but blacks are not
Great value for the money. However, the blacks are not homogeneous across the screen. You get grays and various colors on the screen on a complete black screen.

After 4 days it is working excellent. Pi boots and looks great on the screen
Bought this for my new Raspberry Pi. After 4 days it is working excellent. Pi boots and looks great on the screen. Additionally, I tried my media player and it worked great. Sound is acceptable and can be heard, but I didn’t buy it for that. Some complaints about the stand and power cable length. I haven’t had a problem with the stand yet. I lean the monitor back a little. The power cord is short—not so short that it can’t be used if you have a desktop plug available. Photos were taken with an iPhone

What a cool little monitor!
I only use this to see what's playing on my Oppo blu ray player's hard drive in my studio - I really didn't want to hook it up to a TV set, even if only 12 inches - it'd take up too much room. This tiny little inexpensive thing has an HDMI input on it. The picture quality coming from the Oppo looks incredible. If you're wondering about this TV, have no fear. It's not a piece of doo-doo, and it looks great.

Worked great until it stopped. Doesn't turn on
Was great until it stopped working. At first I tiny it was power pack. So I got a new one. Nothing.
