Yes, it can be removed. It is easy to run the diffuser thru the hair for a straighter style. Works very well for me.

Q: Does this hair dryer have a true "low speed"? Infinity pro felt like a hurricane on low and high.

Yes, this has a low speed and a cool air mode, too. I find both speeds are not noisy and not overly powerful. The design of this hair dryer is to diffuse curly hair and it does it both quickly and efficiently. The diffuser on the end is amazing. My curls never looked so good.

Q: My diffuser gets burning hot after only five minutes on med heat. Anyone else experience this? Worried something wrong with it...

Yes, but that's not normal, It is covered under warranty for 2 or 3 years, you don't need the receipt, just go on the conair warranty replacement page, like I did, and follow the instructions and fill out the request, because my diffuser got burning hot and constantly fell off. So I requested a replacement and if the same happens again it is guaranteed for 3 years in the US, also, the reason there are no air holes in the diffuser rods and why the diffuser blows air seemingly backwards, is actually what makes the diffuser genius. When it's working properly, it blows the air, diffused, backwards so instead of it blowing air up the cuticle, it actually blows the air down the hair, from top to ends, rather than conventional diffusers that just blow air upwards. It should be part of their advertising, I am not sure why it isn't because when my diffuser works, it always makes my hair absolutely shiny and curly and beautiful. So instead of being angry, request a replacement.

Almost exploded at first use

Don't recommend!On the first use after few minutes it made a weird noise and started releasing thick smoke from both sides. Returned it as a defective item
