Frabato the Magician

Wow.. a true master.
The book was amazing. It's hard to believe all of it, but Bardon was an incredible human and magician. History loves to cover up evidence of the detailed bits of the lives of true masters. Lovers of Bardon's work will find contextual examples of the magical practices he shares in his other books weaved into the story in a way that aids comprehension.

Well recommended book
Teaching in the context of a story is better than oatmeal cookie recipies. Some parts looked like Solomonic magick and seemed out of place.Too Hollywood.

"Who is this Frabato?"
Frabato was the stage name of the highly-evolved Adept and Bodhisattva Franz Bardon (1909-1958), who wrote three seminal works on hermetic magic.According to this book, ascribed to Bardon as author but actually written by his personal secretary Otti Votavova, Bardon was engaged in an occult war with one of the many black lodges that had sprouted throughout Weimar Germany in the late 1920s and early 1930s.Whether a reader wants to take this as a novel or as an inspired biography or even as an inspired autobiography, there is NO question that such lodges existed in interwar Germany, that several (like the Thule Group) had a direct influence on the National Socialist movement, and that Hitler was a member of a black lodge at some point in time. According to FRABATO THE MAGICIAN, Hitler was a member of the very lodge Bardon was pitted against.Eventually, Frabato was forced to flee Germany and return to his native Czechoslovakia. After that nation was conquered by Nazi Germany, Bardon was put into a Concentration Camp. Although he survived the war, his life was ended while in police custody in his then-Communist home country. Those who doubt the reality of the Nazi/occult connection are referred to the filmed funeral of Reinhardt Heydrich which is replete with Nazi occult symbolism and ritual, and to Peter Levenda's Unholy Alliance: A History of Nazi Involvement with the Occult and Goodrick-Clarke's The Occult Roots of Nazism: Secret Aryan Cults and Their Influence on Nazi Ideology .FRABATO THE MAGICIAN is mesmerizing. I read it in one sitting. Although the writing style is uneven and requires a large suspension of disbelief by readers unfamiliar with the occult, the book has an arresting quality and is well worth the read. It also introduces some of Bardon's practices and beliefs and includes the existing fragment of his last, unfinished work on hermetic magick.

Very Interesting
A very interesting little book. Supposedly the autobiography of Hermetic Mystic Franz Bardon but leaves the question of fact or fiction to the reader. It does include a considerable amount of basic knowledge of Hermetic practices wrapped within the story and in this manner reminds me vaguely of Crowley’s Moonchild.

Great fast and entertaining read
If you're a Franz Bardon student then how can this not be a part of your collection? I really do think this is great for anyone who really has no introduction to magic and Hermetics as it gives you an idea of what a Hermetic Adepts life maybe like. It was very fast and easy to read also which I really loved about it. It was not hard to understand at all. You could read it in a day easy. I feel it has many potential truths hidden within. It is not an autobiography but was allegedly from a manuscript Franz Bardon passed to one of his students to finish for him. Yes it may most likely be exagerated in some parts but that's ok. I don't believe one should really take anything as 100% true just because they read it somewhere or hear it somewhere unless it feels true to them. One should always have an open mind with anything especially this sort of material.I really like that it contains a fragment of what was to be his 4th book.I have to say it really helped me to understand more the why I wish to pursue Hermetics.

The autobiography of Franz Bardon, a genuine bodhisattva.
Bardon's system is about making the world a better place because you have lived by perfecting yourself through hermetic alchemy (theurgy). It is very interesting to read this book, and then Bardon's other books, beginning with Initiation into Hermetics. It is an abbreviated book - I think Bardon had died in the hands of the Czech secret police before it was published, and there was some controversy over the artistic license taken by the original publisher.Still, if you are interested in real spiritual growth, Franz Bardon is the real deal. It isn't an easy system by any means, but if you are into self-transformation via magical practices at the mental, astral and physical level, it is worth learning about.

I love this book
I love this book, makes me feel like i am in a movie :)) but not, seriously, its a good book, the way his life and actions are written , the details about him and the powerful people and there ways of killing others and there methods. the way he can call upon the fairies the rain, how we had the destiny already set up , etc. I really enjoy it and we can learn from this book, how this universe is and works, I feel he was a very good man , loving and caring with a high level of wisdom . thanks

One of the all-time best starting texts you’ll ever read.
One of the best books I’ve ever read. Written in layman’s terms so even if you’re starting out, this is one of the best books to jumpstart your mind and begin learning.

And although easy to read this is not for the casual reader ...
Franz Bardon was one of the most interesting 20th century spiritual figures and someone one should know about if you have spiritual interests.. In this book about his life which starts in the 1930s in Germany he lifts the lid on the workings of certain dark lodges in a way I have not previously come across. His books are not beginner's stuff. It is not a comprehensive story of his life but emphasises the important experiences. And although easy to read this is not for the casual reader with no understanding of the spiritual world.. This book was compiled by his assistant from materials he left. He died in a Czech prison when he was in his 50s.

seriously!
waffle and piffle. This may or may not be a thinly disguised biography of Franz Bardon but it is amateurishly written and as a novel is neither exciting or interesting.

Great book
Nice insight into an initiate’s world and the heavy burden of responsibility one is entrusted with as one proceeds along the path of maturity.

Good to know Franz Bardon in close.
The story is disguised as an occult novel but based on segments of life of great occultist and magician, Franz Bardon. At the end of the book the reader will find letters written by Franz Bardon, Otti Votavova, and more. There are pictures of Hermes Trismegistos and Lao Tse as well.

Amateur rubbish
Unless you are a child I wouldn't waste your time with this book.I read his non-fiction with interest but after reading this I have to admit that I can't take that seriously either now.
