Lovely book for practicing Japanese
It's full of important words, and it's very convenient to use it on kindle, as it also provides dictionary then and there if you want to know any individual meaning along with example sentences, although furigana is there so you can easily pronounce the word.

Worth going through to expand your vocab and/or understanding
I'm a fan of lists in general so using a list to learn vocab works out well for me. Technically many of these list entries aren't exactly words, like "んだ", so I'm glad they've given us a list of abbreviations at the start of the book for the different parts of speech they've determined each entry to be. Even if you don't really want to memorize those you've got example sentences to help you understand the role every entry plays in a sentence. It's like using a dictionary to learn a language as a beginner, except easier because you're learning what's used commonly by native speakers and you've got example sentences in addition to the meaning and a few words for description wherever necessary. It can also be used to partially evaluate your level of preparedness for day-to-day Japanese conversations.
