Loveless, Vol. 1 (2-in-1 Edition): Includes vols. 1 & 2 (1) Paperback – Illustrated, October 9, 2012

As a graphic design major, I really admire books that are designed beautifully. Even though I already read the manga online, I find buying the book worth it. The cover looks much better in person than what is shown on screen. It has about 6 color pages inside which makes you have something nice and different to stare at. Her art and use of typography is really nice, I like the the contrast of the images and the background scenery. Her story telling is also great, I like Ristuka's character development and his relationship with other people. It is very interesting how people connect with one another, not really in a romantic way, but a need to have somebody in a way that cannot be explained. I will definitely buy the rest of the books. It will be my first complete manga collection. For it's story and it's art.

I'd already borrowed this from a friend, but it was worth owning for the art alone (though the story is simply amazing as well!) Yun Kouga's art style is captivating, mysterious, and fluid, and in Loveless it works incredibly with a story of tragedy bound to love and battles fought in poetry. The books delve into the concept of self and the battle between the hopelessness of predestiny and the risky happiness of legitimate love. It's simultaneously moving and sweet, which is a rare combination to be pulled off as well as in Loveless. I won't give the book review-style summary here, but if you're looking for a story that will draw you in completely and leave you with something to think about, this is something for you.

I originally owned the Tokyopop version of volume one, but this 2-in-1 volume is exponentially better. The fonts are better and the translations are inifinitely more readable. On top of all this, you also get wonderful bonus content and comics that to my knowledge have never been publishing alongside the main volumes.The story is of course a more touchy matter. It's confusing, mesmerizing, and questionable all in one. I personally adore what I have read so far, but I see why it would be less than satisfactory to others. The characters are also difficult to distinguish from each other, but I have found that's pretty common in manga volumes.Overall, Loveless is a mesmerizing experience that is made so much better by this new 2-in-1 volume.

Interesting. Not a lot of girls in this so if you're going into it looking for romance between different sexes you'll be sorely disappointed. The story kind of jumps around, and does backtracking to catch up a lot. E.g. an event will start then bam flashback which then keeps on going up until the point in the story it abandoned you. Confusing at first especially if it takes a break, and the random plot-less mini comics start. On the point of the mini comics. Most of them aren't worth reading so either skip them, or read them after you're done with the main story if you don't have the next volumes to start reading, and need more Ritsuka, and Soubi. Not a whole is revealed within the first two volumes so you're left wanting more.

I gave all of my TokyoPop ones away, because I knew the Vizs copys would be better. They were in all ways, I was afraid I would lose the vol 2 cover, but did not. Its colored and right in front of the begining of vol 2 in this 1 in 2!! Theres 6 colored pics in here and 50 extra pages in this bad boy!!! I love it and worth every penny!! Pluz Viz is so good at translating!! The story flows alot better then the prior TokyoPop!!! Can't wait till Jan. to get vol.2!!!!

Great story, but Soubi is a bit iffy. To be clear, Ritsuka is 12 and Soubi is about 19-20, so that almost turned me away from the series. However, if you can look past it, it is a wonderful story. The character development is even quite realistic, which is a huge plus.

This manga is great is an special edition so it has some never seen images, I like this story becouse it has adventures but at the same time is funny and cute and it isn't very explicit with the yaoi part so I have to say is very light. I recommended to all yaoi fans you are gonna love this manga.

BUT the story serious is very GOOD.

Hace mucho vi el anime y me encontraba interesado en leer el manga ya que me resistia leerlo en internet. Finalmente lo he encontrado aqui en Amazon y eso me hace muy feliz. Estoy muy entusiasmado pero lo leere hasta que compre el resto de tomos.Sobre el paquete llego muy bien protegido y por la tanto el manga llego intacto.Muchas gracias Amazon.
