Truly Waterproof!
Just wore this coat in a downpour and I'm still dry! I've bought more expensive raincoats where the water eventually seeps in the fabric and I end up soaked. That didn't happen with this one. The fit was perfect - I normally wear a large and it fit true to size. There were reviews that complained about having a hard time getting things in and out of the pockets but I didn't have an issue. The pockets have a top flap that helps to keep the contents dry by not letting the rain get in. This coat is good quality, and even comes with a patch kit.

10/10
This jacket is so great that I’ve bought it multiple times and am quick to recommend it to friends! I once bought the size small - unisex fit, on accident, but it was too big. I definitely prefer the women’s fit, as a petite person. The water slides right off the exterior without any permeation or discomfort. I live in a rainy city and wear it extremely often. Because I wear it so often, I have learned that it can be susceptible for showing wear around the pockets (tearing at the corners) and shoulders (from frequently wearing with backpacks/bags). It’s super lightweight, but can still function as an outer layer/“shell” (i.e. overtop other layers/coats) to serve as a windbreaker and to increase warmth, etc. For this price and quality, it’s easily one of my favorite jackets.

Very high quality- worth the extra bucks
Wow- what a high quality product. Thus brand was recommended in a magazine article- I wrote down the name & kind of forgot about it. When I first looked at it- the price had me hesitate a bit, then Amazon had a price drop so I took the plunge. Glad I did. It is not thick or bulky or crackly/rubbery like other slickers- it is soft and supple and nice on the inside. Love the way the sleeves snap close at the wrist as sleeves on jackets are always too long on me- no problem here. I wanted it to be a little more loose than the size recommended so that I could wear sweaters underneath if necessary, so I sized up. Very happy with my purchase.

Love Helly Hansen
I was looking for some rain gear and I'd had a set from Helly Hansen in the past. The prior set held up well and was very waterproof/ wind proof. I was looking specifically for Helly Hansen rain gear this time. I bought the women's jacket this purchase, only because the price was lower than the men's jacket. I had the men's before and I knew it fit me, so I would have bought the men's small. I went a size medium in the women's here, so I'd have room to layer, as I knew that this jacket has no insulation. The medium fits me with room to layer like I wanted, but if I were wanting it to be a bit more fitted, I'd have gone with a small women's (I'm 5'6" and 124lbs, with about a 27inch waist and 35inch bust, and 36-inch hip). The medium is like I said a bit baggy, but it has drawstrings at the bottom so that I can snug it up. It sits just below my butt at the back of my thighs. The arm length is perfect for me. The external fabric is a buttery soft/ smooth, very water and wind proof. There's a zipper and snaps down the front, and it can zip up to my chin. The hood has drawstrings to tighten it. There are two external pockets on the side (toward the front). The only thing I don't like about this jacket is the pockets... the way that they open. The pockets are set so that you could slide your hands foreword into them, but there's a piece of fabric that overlays in the opposite direction making it hard for me to put things (like my keys) in the pocket. The men's jacket in this brand had the pockets in the front that also had a flap of fabric over top to prevent rain from entering, but they were easier to access and put things in. My concern is that I will tear the pocket putting my keys in and out. The pockets are the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. I would still recommend this jacket/ this brand, and I'd buy this brand again and again. I also bought the pants (separately... men's smalls)

Fantastic construction and protection
A good raincoat is worth the price. This one in particular was a gift to my wife, and she has never owned a better one.The construction is all-around solid and clearly built to last. The seams are smooth, shape flattering, zipper robust, and materials weren't cheaped-out on (no cruddy PVC to become brittle in the cold). The hood is roomy, and the jacket provides a slight warmth while remaining breathable with back vents. It's (of course) nothing you'd want to exercise in, but it's perfect for walking or working. It's a nice blue, nothing too pastel or primary, but a deep rich color. It's loved in every way.

Great in wind and rain
I bought this to wear on a trip to Iceland and it was fantastic in windy and rainy conditions. I had enough room to wear a wool sweater when needed, without feeling bulky. The material cleans off well if it gets dirty. The length of the coat was excellent in keeping out wind and rain, as was the depth of the hood. I really like the style and shape of it - would love to see this in a brighter color!

Does the job very well but a bit short
This coat is designed for keeping the rain out. The material is waterproof, kinda like a plasticky rubber. There is a nice YKK zipper with a rain flap that snaps over the zipper for a waterproof seal. The sleeves have two snap options for tightening and the hood and bottom seam have cinch drawstrings (see pictures). Two issues: First, the cut is not very flattering. I wish it was a little longer. Second, I wish there was some Helly Hansen branding somewhere. The blue coat like this has a subtle HH at the hood but this has nothing. The blue version is also longer (I tried both).I'm 5'7" and 195lbs and ordered an XL.
