Works just fine, so far!
I installed this on my cheap RIA 10mm and it fit just fine. The small allen wrench DOES NOT FIT the small allen screw, weird they would supply something that does not fit. Now, let's see if it stays in place when I hit the range...

Shockingly good.
Ordering an NcStar part, I usually expect crap, but sometimes thats all I need. That was not the case here. The part fit very well on my Taurus 1911. High quality milled aluminum part with perfect fitment. Looks really good, and enough picatiny rail to put anything you can think of on it. I highly recomend this part for anyone with a 1911 that didnt come with an accesory rail. The Army uses a part similar to this for the few 1911 still kicking around, they are cheaply made out of plastic. This part is far superior.Update: This thing does not stay clamped on under repeated firing even with locktite. It looked great, and fit great, but is not up to snuff on a firearm you intend to actually use.

.45 Springfield 1911 A1
I usually don't write reviews but it seems as if this product has been improperly applied by most of the buyers. I read quite a few reviews before buying and curiosity got the best of me. I have a .45 Springfield 1911 A1 and it fit perfectly, which is the exact opposite opinion of most reviews. It seems as if most buyers haven't realized that there's a third screw in the front that tightens the rail. It's a great, strong piece added to my weapon, mostly for home defense. There hasn't been any problem with it slipping, either (don't use the long end of the tool for leverage). I haven't even put loctite on it... yet. Not sure why people continue to complain about their lasers being off sight but lasers are supposed to be used for only for CQB, not ranged combat. I can only imagine the distance they were shooting to miss center mass. My friends and I in the Infantry Marines call these types of people "shooting illiterates;" A.K.A. "gear qu###s." In other words, people that don't understand the science and strategy behind pieces of equipment. Yet, they still insist on stockpiling as much tactical gear as possible to compensate for their inexperience. All-in-all, it's a decent piece if installed properly.

Took a chance
I noticed all the negative reviews, but decided to take a chance because of some of the positive reviews and Amazon's return policy. In the positive reviews, several mentioned that they thought possibly the part was installed wrong and that the mount fit their gun perfectly. When the package arrived, there was what looked like a plastic mount in a plastic bag. However, also in the bag was a box. The box contained a very nice aluminum mount. So, for some reason I received 2 mounts. The plastic one surely was not of very good quality. I tried it on one of my Kimber Custom IIs. The fit was poor, my finger wouldn't fit in the trigger guard and I don't believe it would stand up to recoil, as many have stated. The aluminum mount, however, mounted easily to the same pistol and seems very sturdy. I don't have a holster made for it yet, so haven't used it in training, but will shoot it off the bench before the next training session and post the results.

Tight fit, doesn't fit all guns (like my SigSauer P226)
I bought 2 of these, one for a Para Ordnance P13.45 and the other for a SigSauer P226. Both are "standard" 1911 frame styles. For starters, the adapter does NOT fit the P226; the bottom of the barrel is too large. As far as the P13, I could get it (mostly) on but the fit is EXTREMELY tight - and yes, it scratched up my gun (the first scratches on this gun), so I'm not happy about that. But it's on now, so we'll see how it stands up to use after I get to the range. As far as the adapter bought for the P226, I instead tried it on a Para Ordnance Warthog (a smaller .45 cal with a 1911 frame). Again, the fit was EXTREMELY tight, and there were more scratches on this gun, too. Likewise, I will see how good it works after the next trip to the range.Bottom line: be forewarned! This adapter does NOT fit all 1911 pistols, and those it does fit will like be scratched when assembled. A note to the seller: you should list the make and models it does fit or the models it doesn't fit, so buyers like me won't but it and then find out later it doesn't fit properly.

Worked like a charm
Great product for a Springfield 1911 mil spec… the screws are slightly tricky… it would be better if you use a little screw driver with optional heads oppose to using the Allen wrench it comes with the package…Start from the top screw when attaching it to the gun. I found this to be the easiest way. But I had to use my own Allen wrench…

Surprised that it didn’t hold up!
Shot both my Kimber and Rock Island 1911 after installing these adapters, after 13 rounds I noticed the rail kept loosening up…..I thought it was just a defective rail but even the rail on my Kimber was also having a similar issue…..doesn’t end there, the screws were so poor that the the Allen key won’t even loosen up the screws, tried using a screw extractor to no avail…..so I literally had to break both rails in order to get them off my trigger guard…..worse, it left scratch marks on the trigger guards on my 1911’s…..returned the items and wrote a note to Amazon…..never had this issue before with other NC star products (featureless grip and other rails/parts were all good). Very surprised 😮
