I got a softbox light from MountDog a good while ago and it was great - it worked well, wasn't too hot, and was quick and easy (just what I needed). In need of a new backdrop stand and new lighting, I decided to try this set out - if it wasn't what I was looking for, I'd probably return it. But it's great! It's got more than adequate lighting for my needs with 4 lights, the backdrops it came with are pretty nice, though they are a bit thin. They were easy to iron, too! The stands feel pretty sturdy for indoor use - I don't really recommend using outside unless you know the weather will be pretty decent and not too windy. I was also a bit worried the cases wouldn't fit everything but they did and they're easy to carry and pack up! This was a great option for a studio set up on a budget! Definitely recommend for beginners or those just stepping into studio work. I so really love the LED softbox lights, the temperature change in the light is way more noticeable than I expected and in my case, that's a great thing!

I just used this kit recently and thought I should write a review. Looking at my purchase, it occurred one year ago. I don't have a room to dedicate to a studio so I needed something that can be broken down for storage. I've used this about 5 times now. Each time I've gotten faster at setting up and taking down. More importantly, I've gotten better at photography too. My wife is rather small so this is plenty tall for her. I can be in the photo with her if I sit on a stool. It's not tall enough for me to stand in the shot. All of this works damn fine and I have no complaints about any piece of this gear. This packs down into the large bag that comes with it. The only thing I added to this was a gray backdrop. That said, I have done shoots with the black and the white backdrops also. My wife and I agree this was well worth the money and gives us a great deal of entertainment when we get stuck inside on rainy days.

Just make sure you measure out the dimensions as it can take up a lot of space. Customer service was great.

Wow. This kit has it all. Stands, backgrounds, lights. Enough items to allow plenty of creative setups.Yes, a one light video cannot compare to the possibilities of this rig with its four lights. Side light, back light kickers, background lights are all possible.The black background has worked out especially well for music videos. Being black, it recedes, taking nothing away from the principal subject and deemphasizing any shadows. The white is a little trickier. The green screen offers, again, creative possibility.Tik-Tok is lovin' it. Videos getting hundreds of thousands of view. This kit is a well-loved part of the rig.

After assembling this kit, I am pleasantly surprised by the quality. I have helped others set up various lights and backdrops, ranging from the hobbyist to pro, so I’ve seen cheap sets, and really expensive ones. This set, for the price, is very sturdy! I had actually expected it to be on the flimsy side (for the price) but it’s not. I have seen reviews talking about the stands being cheap- but they’re all made to be lightweight and portable, so don’t expect ‘heavy’ stuff- even the pro setups are lightweight. I paid more for this set, over other ones, for a few reasons. The lights in this set are brighter, and the LED lights for the soft boxes are adjustable in color temp, and dimmable. Also, the soft boxes are bigger. When comparing kits, pay attention to the types of bulbs, the lumens and watts. This kit is well worth the price. Also, since I have two kids in the high school, and we found ourselves having to do our own senior pictures, this kit is saving me a bundle. I highly recommend it!

The media could not be loaded. Mountdog has done it again! Sticking with this brand for future purchases! I vlog, videograph and take photos. I needed a good lighting kit and came across Mountdog. For an affordable price I got durable and dependable equipment! Everything was well packed and everything comes with its storage bags! The kit came with four lights (lightbulbs included) 2 soft boxes and two umbrellas. 4 tripods for the lights, two remotes to change soft or hard lights. The backdrop frame is strong and sturdy and really extends if you want it to! It also came with a black, green, white backdrops. All bulbs are also energy saving! Backdrop clamps are strong and durable. The kit even came with two additional sandbags. I love this kit and can’t wait for any future projects! Also if you’re new to lighting the kit comes with user friendly instructions. I recommend this kit fully. Worth the money!

Everything is as described in the listing. My frustration is that the backdrop stand becomes flimsy when stretched out to 10 feet. Additionally, I had to buy a different backdrop because the backdrops that come with it are only 5 feet across. For a beginning step towards studio equipment, this is a reasonable start, however, after one use I can tell I will need to upgrade the size of the soft boxes and the backdrop stand very soon.
