If you NEED superior eye protection - you want Maui Jim in your life
WOW. Just WOW.I had cataract surgery about 3 years ago and my eyes are very sensitive because I have ocular implants. This, combined with a 45 minute commute - each way - to and from work and finding myself physically recoiling and wincing because of a few painful stretches of intense sun and glare, I suspected that I NEEDED better eye protectionThe first thing I noticed was how clear everything became. I didn't realize how much I was flinching or squinting in my 'other' sunglasses until I drove with these. In fact, objects along my drive became so clear that I actually found myself reading makes and models of cars in front of me. I don't care about the type of car of course, but with these glasses, everything is so clear, I was amazed (and perhaps a little amused) at the things along the way that 'popped' out at me.In a few weeks, I became desensitized to what I jokingly call my 'baby with a mobile' stage and realized that even on the brutal stretches of my commute, I didn't wince or squint at all.I will NEVER settle for or wear inferior sunglasses again. NEVER. (and the ones I replaced weren't cheap... just inadequate.)If you live in the sunny brutal Southwest - or more importantly, if you NEED the best sunglasses you can find, get yourself some Maui Jim's.One additional comment, I read many many MANY of the reviews before I purchased these and I have not found that these glasses create vision restrictions for ME. I have not found that frames are too wide - nor have I had problems with visual interfere. The built in nose guards are very comfortable and I have not had issues with acne, hives or perspiration. This has been an issue for me in the past because I have metal allergies. These glasses do everything I need them to do without creating any external/ personal aggravation.I LOVE these and down the road, hope to get another pair.

Love these!
I had these in the brown frame with the rose gold lens option, and when I needed to replace them, they were not in stock so I tried these with the blue frame and black lens. I could not be happier with this pair. Super comfortable to wear, does a great job of blocking out bight light, and are very well made. My eyes are pretty sensitive to sunlight and these are perfect. Maui Jim’s have always been my go-to for sunglasses and these are my absolute favorite pair. Highly recommended

Chic polarized sun protection for eyes
They fit well, offer great protection from bright, glaring sun. Love the look. Maui Jim’s are not cheap sunglasses but are worth the price to protect your eyes. This pair is more expensive elsewhere.

Some real world experiences.
Fit my wife ideally. Not huge like a bug, not teensy like standard Wayfarers, etc.The rubber on the nose grips well, prevent slipping.Thin glass lenses, not plastic. MJim will replace the glass for $60 plus shipping if you break (eg drop). The glass is slightly mirrored on the outside. Note: no one can see your eyes in these glasses; they are dark and slightly mirrored, so impossible to see users' eyes. The case is zippered, hard to use; plan on getting a hinged case. The MJ warranty, despite what others will tell you, is only for two years recently on all its sunglasses.Like that these are not as curved as other sunglasses. While not exactly flat as are, say, Wayfarers, they are flat enough to be hung over a v-neck sweater or t-shirt. Buggy, curved glasses cannot. They block sun spectacularly, and have none of the glare of cheap sunglasses. Despite what other reviewers have mentioned about poor peripheral vision, my wife--who has owned many, many sunglasses--says the peripheral vision is good. No issue. She uses them to drive, etc.Love the blue inside black look of these Punchbowls. She adores these sunshades. She looks cool in them and when she wears them, all I can think about is kissing her. ;-)

Excellent
This is my second pair of Maui Jim’s. The first pair, same style, had started to peel at the inside nose after 6-7 years and caused skin irritation. I decided to replace and haven’t been disappointed. Same quality and style. I only wish they still provided a hard side case with the glasses. I got a triangle type case that’s a bit soft and would’nt protect the glasses much if you stored in a purse or luggage. I bought a $10 hard case from Target and that does the trick. Happy with purchase, even with needing to buy a hard case.

x-ray vision
I don't usually leave reviews but I thought I must for this one. I went to the beach the day I got this sun glasses, as I usually do every week or so (I live in the caribbean,) but this time it was different. I had xray vision. That's the only way I can describe how good this thing works. I couldn't stop looking out the window at the trees, the flowers and all of nature. I felt like a blind person seeing for the first time. The trees were so green! And the flowers were so pink and colourful! I was so amazed. Even the paint on the houses that we passed on the way were more vibrant. I have worn other polarized shades before but never knew that someone could have such a powerful visual experience. I almost felt that I could see straight through the trees. Apart from that, it was the only shades I bought in my whole life that ever fit me well as I have a very small face and usually my sunglass fall off my face when I lean forward. This shades has not only pleased me, but greatly exceeded my expectations. I can recommend this to anyone who has a small face and would like to see what it feels like to have X-Ray vision. Thank you maui jim!!!
