Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature First Feed Bottle, Extra Slow Flow Nipple – 5oz, 1ct

My newborn had a hard time with the Tommee Tippee bottles with the 0+ slow flow nipples (nipples with a 1 stamped on it). These ultra slow flow nipples are perfect for her. She doesn't gulp her milk, so less air as a result. She also has a bad habit of sucking in her top lip, but doesn't have an issue with these bottles and can latch just fine. I wasn't able to nurse due to not producing enough, so I can't comment on the ease of switching between breast and bottle. We tried three brands of bottles and these are the only ones that work for us. I especially like the fact there are only four pieces to the bottle (cap, nipple, collar, bottle). Cleaning is easy and assembly is simple and they also work great in our bottle warmer. Bottles are sturdy and don't leak.

This bottle is perfect for preemies or newborns! My granddaughter had issues choking on a bottle the first weeks after birth. The pediatric doctor said many babies have this problem because their swallowing reflex can be a little slow in the first weeks. This bottle COMPLETELY solved the problem, as well as reduced her colic. It is an amazing bottle. It also comes with a neat little cup inside that is removable, it's used to store or pump into a couple of ounces of breast milk and has its own little cap to keep milk from spilling. I would recommend for all newborn babies. We couldn't find any other bottle with such a perfect flow system for a newborn.

I wanted to love these badly because of the nipple design, but all these bottles are terribly designed. The HUGE flaw is that milk gets trapped at the rim above the indent- like 1 and 1/2 oz. every time!!! You have to hold the bottle completely upside down AND shake the milk to get it "over the hump." Any breastfeeding/pumping momma knows how every drop counts and you can't shake breast milk. I'm so disappointed in the brand for not correcting this.

All the Tommee Tippee bottles we had were marked with a "1" (this is not easily found on the box, but you can find the number etched into the surface of the actual clear nipple, just above the white band, as seen in the product photo), and read the pamphlet included to learn that a "0" was available for an even slower flow. None of the baby specialty stores carried this bottle, so we were relieved to find it here.If your newborn chokes at all with the smallest flow you currently have, I strongly suggest purchasing this bottle. Even though you can't purchase the nipple alone, it's so worth it. Our daughter fed from this bottle without having any leakage from the corners of her mouth, and her choking significantly decreased, to hardly ever, which made us happy as parents.As an additional product note:We received the sanitizer Tommee Tippee Electric Steam Sterilizer, which I also recommend, even if you have a dishwasher. I have a graduate degree in molecular biology, and I can tell you it is like a home version of an autoclave- very effective. We use the sterilizer at least twice per day.

First Amazon review (after being a customer for 10 years)! I love this bottle and purchased it specifically for the extra slow flow nipple. I’m a FTM and have been exclusively breastfeeding my now 8 week old. After trying to introduce the bottle, I noticed my little one choking and spitting up milk even with newborn and slow flow nipples on my Doctor Browns and Avent bottles. The flow on these bottles despite being marketed for newborns was too much. She’d choke and spit up quite a bit of milk despite my efforts of pace feeding her. After some research, I decided to order this one. We’ve had great success with baby even falling asleep on the bottle and switching from breast to bottle without any fussing. I only wish I could order extra nipples from Tommee Tippee.

I love Tommee Tippee products and I like the first feed system with the small cup in the bottle. However, I want to warn anyone that buys this product for the Extra Slow Flow Nipple that it came with a standard size 1 nipple, not the extra slow flow nipple. When you purchase the Extra Slow Flow Nipples, they have a ‘0’ on the nipple and this one has the same ‘1’ as all my other bottles. If you need just the Extra Slow Flow nipples like I wanted, they can be purchased in sets of 2 through Buy, Buy Baby. You do not need to buy this to get it.

I love these bottles! I like the size for breastfed babies - helps to prevent overfeeding since breastfed babies never need more than 5 oz of breastmilk at a time (many only take 2-4 oz at a time), and I like the wide nipple base as it seems to help transition well between breast and bottle. The ONLY thing I don't like is that the bottle design keeps a little bit of milk stuck in the top "groove" of the bottle - I have to shake it into the nipple in order for baby to get all the milk out.

Love these bottles. They have been perfect for my baby as he transitioned to drinking bottles at daycare while continuing to breast feed in the evenings. These are the only Tommee Tippee nipples that are extra slow flow (0, as opposed to 1 for slow flow). These also come with a small cup inside of the bottle that holds 2 ounces, which is very convenient to use with young babies who aren’t drinking many ounces at a time. You have to buy the entire bottle/nipple/small internal cup combo in order to get those extra slow flow nipples. Very happy!

Hemos estado alimentando a nuestro bebé usando este biberón desde hace un mes. El recipiente que tiene dentro (tiene tapa también) lo llenábamos con leche sin necesidad de ensuciar completamente el biberón como tal pues sella al poner la tetina. Además, si tienes botecitos Tommee Tippee para fórmula, puedes hacer lo mismo, de modo que si tienes reservas de leche en esos botecitos, es como cambiar de cartucho en cada toma. El flujo de la tetina es perfecto al día de hoy. Nada de cólicos por la válvula que tiene y la forma que además destaca del resto, es bastante cómoda para sostener en cualquier posición.

Excelente para recien nacido a 3 o 4 meses. Ya que despues necesitas biberones de mayor capacidad. El vasito es excelente para leche materna y no se desperdicie lo menos posible y/o dar medicina con el bibi.
