Good looking and efficient outdoor string lights
Purchased these to replace 11W incandescent string lights to save energy and hopefully last much longer. They look really nice in person, the long LED strips look more like a traditional bulb than other LED lights, which is very important for the hanging, visible way they are being used. The light is nice and warm, which is great for a patio, but would probably be too warm for interior use. They are brighter than the older 11W bulbs but use 1/5 of the power (for 18 bulbs, this is 36W vs. 198W) so I feel less bad about leaving them on, although realistically, they will take a very long time to pay for themselves on energy savings alone (~$.004/hr vs. ~$.02/hr at $.11/kWh would need ~650 days at 4hrs daily use to break even) but if you consider the cost of replacing incandescent bulbs several times over a few years, versus hopefully never replacing these, it is worth it! They are also very dimmable, so that I can still match the brightness of the old bulbs, while using even less power, but can turn them up if I need more light. I am using a z-wave smart dimmer with them. To me it looks like they can dim much lower than the advertised 50%.Their pricing is a little annoying however, because in this pack they are quite reasonable, but I need 24 bulbs, not 18. They also sell a 3-pack, but for the price of two 3-packs I can get a another 18-pack, but I don't have any use for extra bulbs!9/17/18 update: all of the bulbs still work after two years of near daily use outdoors. They are under a roof but still exposed to rain and snow if there is much wind. They worked great right through the winter and seem unaffected by the cold.10/24/19 update: Everything is still working great! No bad bulbs. I think they may have actually paid for themselves by now!

The Good: - they look great
The Good:- they look great, color is spot on with the incandescents that came with my string lights from big club store. They are ever so slightly brighter than the incandescent bulbs, but it's hard to notice. In fact, right now I have half and half as I wait for the incandescent bulbs to die.- price, at about $2 a bulb they'll pay for themselves in about a year (we run ours every night) and hopefully they'll last for many years. Which brings me to the bad...The Bad:- I've only installed about ten of the bulbs as I'm waiting for the incandescent bulbs to fail, and one of the bulbs already has stopped working. It's odd because it first started flickering and I thought maybe I didn't have it screwed in all the way, but I double-checked that it was and since then it's gone out completely.- I wish they sold them in different variety of amounts. Most string lights I've seen are 24 bulbs, so an 18 pack leaves you a little bit short. I've seen that they sell them in a 3 pack, but at $20 that's over three times the price per bulb of the 18 pack. This isn't really the manufacturer's fault however what's funny is that the bulbs come in individually packaged boxes, so in theory you could sell them in any number of sized packs.Overall I'm happy with the product , and I will be buying another set because I have a 24 light string. I'm just going to end up with 12 extra bulbs (actually 11 after I replace the bad bulb). In my attached photo you can see the bad bulb, 3 new LEDs and 3 old incandescents.Update 06/2018: Only 3 of the bulbs are still working. While they're using less electricity than their incadescent counterparts, these LEDs don't seem to last any longer. In fact, some of the original incandescent bulbs of the string are still going strong. LED technology is supposed to be better. I never bought the second box I planned on, I'll probably try another brand.

Bulbs Fail After 4-Months
I purchased these bulbs in March 2017, and since that time four bulbs have failed. Great looking bulb, but given the failure rate I cannot recommend.9/21/2017 Update: These bulbs continue to fail; so far I have had to replace almost half the set.12/8/2017 Update: These bulbs continue to fail; and at this point have replaced the entire set originally purchased.

Great "antique" LED bulbs at (sometimes) a great price!
I am a big fan of these bulbs but not a fan of the marketing. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because:A.) I received a box with a broken bulbB.) There are only two (really only one if you consider the price of the small pack) buying optionsC.) The price fluctuates A LOTD.) You have to screw them down unexpectedly tight or they won't work at all... The weld (or lack thereof) on the bottom of the bulb is very low-profileI've bought these bulbs twice and saved over $20 waiting on this product to come down in price. Other than the above gripes, the bulbs work wonderfully and they are quite handsome. They have an accurate (although slightly over-bright) mellow/yellow hue that has a very antique-feel. You can use a dimmer on these and that is a big plus.I would buy these again (although I won't need to with all the extras I have due to the lack of buying options :-)

Sturdy, attractive, bright, adjustable lighting for back yard.
The product looks very sturdy, the lights are dimmable at three levels and work great, and the remote control is simple and works well from 50 feet away. Very pleased with the product. Only time will tell if the LED light bulbs last as long as advertised.Only negative, we were to receive 16 LED dimmable bulbs. We received 14 and 2 incandescent light bulbs, one of which had a broken filament. I emailed Newhouse and they sent me within four days 6 additional LED lights. People make mistakes but when corrected and followed through to completion speaks well of their customer service.

Best compromise for price, color and brightness, replacing stock bulbs
All of the bulbs worked, which was great. Product description says each bulb is 250 lumens but product box says 200 lumens. Not a big deal, since I was replacing the stock bulbs that came with my bistro strands, and the stock bulbs were only 50 lumens, so these were 4x brighter anyway. These are the best compromise for brightness and color and price that I could find.

just perfect

bright at night in the yard but
the bulbs burn out faster than i antisipated. Bought a string a year ago and several are burned out. 6 or 7 to date. Pretty costly when you factor that into the string itself.

Low watt substitute.
I found lumen-equivalent LED bulbs to replace the 40, 60, and 100 Watt bulbs around the house, but couldn't find anything to substitute for my dim 25 watt incandescent bulbs, used for bedside table lamps and keyboard lamp. Although slightly dimmer than 25 watt incandescent bulbs, these 2 watt bulbs work perfectly. Used 5 so far... got 13 spares.
