I purchased this primarily because of the wide stance of the feet. We had a wooden coat rack before and we hang my husbands work jeans on them (more than 1 at a time) and other heavy items and it would fall over if you looked at it crosswise.This is good and stable although I had reservations when the box arrived. It was very light. The reservations were not diminished when I opened the box to find that the item was packaged inside another box. However, once it was assembled and upright and items on it, it is good and solid. I gave it a few pokes to make sure. The assembly was a bit of a challenge.To be fair, If we had looked at the instructions first it would have been less so as every piece had a piece of cardboard well taped onto them with a letter pasted onto that which conformed to the instructions. We thought that the cardboard was just packaging and ripped it off without looking at it. Well, ripped off is a bit of a misnomer. Have scissors or razor blades handy. When I say it was well taped to the product, I meant you could barely get it off. They used heavy duty packing tape and lots of it.The only thing this is not so good for is hats. Most coat racks have that rounded protuberance coming up from the middle to put hats on. This does not. That could be improved. It also would be nice if the manufacturer gave you options to buy more of the sliding hooks. That being said, it holds a nice quantity. I am buying second one for guest bedroom. This one was for our master bedroom. I like that it has places on top level that you could use clothes hangers on.

Just assembled this yesterday, so I can't speak to it's durability yet. It was very easy to assemble with no tools required. Took about 30 minutes to assemble. Each part was marked with a letter sticker which was very helpful. The hooks are moveable up and down and around the pole, which is a nice feature. It's not super heavy weight, but we have around 8 coats and jackets (including some heavy wool and down) hanging on it, and it seems to hold them just fine. It seems stable, although with heavy coats, you do need to try to distribute the weight on opposite hooks to make sure it's balanced or I would be concerned that it might tip. May not be the most decorative item in the world, but overall a decent value for a coat rack that doesn't take up a lot of space.

This coat rack does the job. It doesn't tip over which was very frustrating with my old rack. I have a few winter coats, a few jackets with no problem. The hooks are plastic which I was concerned might not hold up well but they are pretty thick and no problems. Love it!

Hi do not buy this item not sturdy, bent while putting together. The legs or where it crosses at the bottom long screw that holds had no way of staying in, so we grey taped still not working leaning right now don't buy! Too much trouble to send back, will choose another!

I wasn't sure about this one, until I started putting it together. The base on this is solid, sturdy. And it was one of the easier ones to put together.It holds my winter coats, over-stuffed bags, and those winter odds & ends (boots, mitts, and ear-warmers) really well.Plus, it has a surprisingly small footprint. I keep a floor protector under it so I can also put my snow boots and packages at the bottom.Great buy.

I wanted a rack that could be used for clothing not so much for coats. With the design on the top of this model you can see you have the ability to use hangers which is exactly what I wanted. The rack is stable, looks good in the brushed aluminum finish and useful for my needs.It’s easy to assemble just pay attention to the directions. I liked it enough to buy a second one.

A lot more plastic than I had expected...but still very durable.

Easy to assemble. Took little floor space yet allows me to hang alot of bags and hats. Will buy another for my clothes. I will recommend this to anyone as it also looks elegant. Thanks to Amazon for the speedy and very reliable delivery.
