Lifetime Youth Wave Kayak (Paddle Included), Blue, 6'

My 6 yr old kiddo loves this kayak, and I love being able to go paddle with him without the headache we used to have when he was on a full sized SUP board and struggled to keep in control well. He cruises all over the place and we have a blast now.

Small compact kayak for youth trying to learn concepts.

I bought this for my 6 year-old for his birthday. I figured there would be a huge learning curve and he might fall out and/or have difficulty turning it. Not so. He got in and paddled off like a pro. He’s never fallen out. It’s so easy for him to maneuver. His 8 year-old sibling had the same experience in it.The weight limit is 125 lbs so it should last him for quite a while. His dad and I put that to the test and were both flipped out of the kayak. It is definitely not suitable for adults.Great buy. Highly recommend.

This is a well made product for a very reasonable price. They even provide you with a matching color paddle as well. It has a unique feature that I really liked. The stern of the kayak is designed to let the child swim up to and easily pull themselves back up in order to re enter the boat from deep water. The only mod I did was put a nice seat in it for my granddaughter as I new she would get uncomfortable quickly with no back support.

Bought this for my 7 year old daughter who asked for a kayak for her birthday. Once she got the hang of paddling on her own (previously she would sit with either me or my wife in our single seaters), she was off! It is very stable and she is able to get on and off while in the water or from a dock. It is even stable enough for her to paddle around with her little brother on it. During an impromptu race with some other older kids in enclosed kayaks, she kept up with all of them and ended up beating them. The construction seems durable enough to last until she grows out of it and it becomes her little brother's. It is also light enough to easily and quickly move around on dry and land.

My 10 year old son is about 4'7" weights about 65# and can maneuver this kayak with ease. Actually both my 7 and 5 year olds can use it easily as well. Floats stable, tracks fairly true for a kid's kayak. Only reason I gave it a 4 star rating is that I wish the paddle was adjustable, so as the kids grow the paddle could too. Paddle seems a bit short for my 10 year old. But, can't beat the price for a kayak and a paddle for a kid just looking to try it out and have some fun on the water!

For what we are using the kayak for, it's perfect. We have not come up against any problems whatsoever in the 2 summers my daughter has used it. My daughter was 8 years old when we first got it, and she found the kayak very easy to use.Before we purchased, I contacted the company to try to figure out how long she would be able to use the kayak (I didn't want to get it and find out that she would be too big when she turned 10, for example). They explained that there is no real height limit, only a weight limit (130 lbs). Obviously this kayak is shorter than an adult's kayak, but it's true, an adult woman under the weight limit could use it though her knees would be somewhat bent. Anyway, the point is that if you are buying this for an 8 year old, it should be usable for years.I admit we haven't exactly strained the limits of this kayak, but for our use (8/9/10 year old on lakes) we've been nothing but pleased. I don't know if it's lacking some features people want but for us, it's done the job and we've been happy.
