Routin 1883 PET Amaretto Syrup - 1 Liter Bottle

I bought this to add to jam making. The amaretto jam I usually buy is £4.00 for a tiny 220gm jar. I adore amaretto jam on scones and toast on Sunday. But one tiny pot is walloped pretty darned quick at one sitting with a family or with friends. So I decided to make some of my own. With free blackberries from the hedgerows and apples given away (outside boxes galore around by us), this worked out at less than a pound a 350gm jar. Then I decided to make marmalade (from the concentrated cans of yesteryear which you can still purchase), although I had some in the store cupboard. Wonderful taste, my friends love it as do I. Now I don't cringe when someone takes loads on toast and scones. I don't blame them amaretto anything is delicious, so now no longer a luxury. Although I did sample some in my coffee and found it amazing as a treat. A good buy, but I'd have rather had it in a glass bottle, so it was decanted straight away into a clean glass wine bottle. I'm not a fan of anything in plastic, however as this had a good taste, I put up and shut up. Would I buy this again? I won't need to for a long time, as a litre goes a long way. I'm not sure and that's based entirely on the plastic bottle. Would I recommend it? Yes for taste, no if you are a plastic bottle hater like me.

9/5/21 HAVING BOUGHT THE ITALIAN AMARETO FOR YRS , THIS FRENCH ONE WAS NOT AS GOOD AS THE ITALIAN ONE I USUALLY BUY, BOUGHT AS THE PRICE WAS THE BEST, NOT SURE ABOUT THIS FRENCH AMARETTO
