Inside of bottle peels
Loved this water bottle in theory. Super convenient that it collapses. However, after only a few washes the inside coating of the bottle began to peel black flakes. And what’s worse is the company wouldn’t provide a refund. I am extremely disappointed with this purchase.

More like 4.5 stars.
My 2 cents: I purchased the small and the regular size Que bottle and have used them regularly for a couple of months. I have been extremely satisfied with the purchase. This has been my experience with both of the bottles.PROS:CollapsibleWide MouthLeak-proofVery DurableNice LookingCONS:Not RigidEasy to spillRubber smell at the beginningCondensationPROS:COLLAPSIBLEI like collapsible water bottles. I think they take up less room. These bottles will collapse to a small size when not full. I have 2 other collapsible water bottles that I never use and a stainless steel rigid water bottle that I don’t use as much.WIDE-MOUTHI absolutely want a wide mouth bottle since a wide mouth bottle can be easily cleaned in the dishwasher. No way will you see me fishing a bottle brush into a narrow opening trying to clean a water bottle. I want and need zero maintenance.LEAKPROOFI don’t know what other experience has been but I have put these bottles through a torture test and have found them unbelievably leak-proof. I throw them into my backpack, travel bag, or sailing bag almost daily.THE TORTURE TESTHere’s what I do with the 20oz bottle. Because it is long and narrow, I fill the bottle with ice, then top it off with water and use it as a lumbar support and ice bag for my lower back while on an airplane. I find this extremely helpful on longer flights and it lets me to travel with fewer back problems. If the 20oz bottle can repeatedly stand up to a 200-pound guy laying against it for an 8-hour flight without a leak, it is pretty durable.Once, I put the sealed bottle in the freezer to chill it and forgot about it for a few days. Now you don’t have to watch Myth Busters to know that freezing water will easily burst galvanized steel, so I assumed I just ruined my water bottle. Surprisingly, it seemed to handle it with no apparent problems. I don’t think I will make of habit of this however.I am glad they made them durable, because I use mine a lot. My bottles are either in a daypack, in the car, or in the dishwasher.APPEARANCELet’s face it; with the interesting shape and various colors it is kind of cool looking. Since the first 20oz Que bottle I bought was discreet black, I think I will order another one in a bright color.CONS:EASY TO SPILLI think the primary negatives with this bottle have to do with 2 of the positives -- collapsible and wide-mouth. This combination requires that you be more careful with the bottle and use two hands to drink from it. It is not a one-hand water bottle. However, once you get some practice with the bottle, it is not that difficult and I will often use the bottle as my kitchen bottle in the fridge while traveling. This is the one negative that you should think strongly about. I wanted a wide-mouth collapsible bottle so I understand this negative. However, you might find this a deal breaker.Because it is very easy to spill, I don’t think it is a good bottle for very young children.NOT RIGIDThe bottle will stand upright but since it is not rigid it might be difficult to cram into the water bottle slot in one of my daypacks. It is nice that the bottle is narrow and will fit into a normal cup holder. I have another collapsible water bottle that won’t fit into a cup holder and I seldom use it. It is not a good idea to have the half-empty bottle standing on the table with the cap off as there is a good chance of spilling some of it.RUBBER SMELLThe smaller bottle in particular had a strong rubber smell out of the box. I boiled it as recommended. After a while, the smell went away and the only smell remaining is a very faint “sweet” smell that compliments pure water. If you are sensitive to this smell you might not make it past the break in period.CONDENSATIONYou would assume since these bottles have more surface area exposed to the humid air, they would have more condensation. The bottle is not insulated as you can assume from the picture, so it sweats condensation the same as a plastic botte. I think I will store my ice filled bottle in an unzipped Ziploc when it is in my sailing bag.PRICELet’s face it, these bottles are not the cheapest ones out there.SUMMARY:Some time ago, I decided to avoid purchasing plastic water bottles. I have a few different type of bottles, some of which sit on the shelf unused. I have both the small and the large Que bottles and seem to use them a lot. I think I will order another of the 20 oz. bottles in a brighter color.

Bad design...could be improved
The bottle looks nice but it fails in function and quality. The pros:1. Nice color and looks2. Compact and collapsible is a good conceptThe cons:1. The bottle is very flimsy. It will not stand upright due to the weak base. If you intend to place this on a table then expect it to fall over.2. It is not airtight and tends to cause a small leak when you press the bottle. There should be a rubber seal between the lid and the bottom to ensure its leakproof.3. There is no handle on the lid so it feels awkward when carrying it around. Might work for others but I like to easily carrying my water bottle around.

Moldy Product
The bottle is great in theory for travel for being so compact & small but it’s a terrible product and customer service doesn’t hold up to their claim for “lifetime warranty”. I discovered several areas of mold inside my bottle & I was unable to clean or scrub them off. I’ve emailed them about this and they said I’m out of my 6 month purchase date. Then why claim lifetime warranty?? Don’t buy this product because you’ll end up throw it away which is a huge disappointment to what the claim to being environmentally friendly.

Okay
I really like the concept of this bottle and the customer service has been great. This review is modified to reflect that. However, it wasn't the right bottle for me.The quantity of water it holds is not very much for hiking, for a short run though it would be okay. It is also too unstable and the cap screeches when it goes on. Word of advice is to only use for activities where you won't be placing it next to an electronic because it does have a tendency to flop over.

Smell never went away.. too late to return
Unfortunately, the smell never came out. I boiled it 5 or more times and used baking soda and vinegar to try and dissipate the smell (as suggested by the company, Que. I thought the smell was gone, but once I started using it, it was quite noticeable. So much so that I don't really like using the bottle. I wanted to like it a lot! I would have returned it, but I bought it for a trip abroad and so wasn't able to while I was gone.

Can't stand upright.
This was a gift for my mom. The bottle itself looks really nice, and the idea is really cool. Keep it extended when you're drinking, collapse it when you're done to keep it compact. Unfortunately form trumps function for this product. Even when it was full it wouldn't stand up firm, it'd be a little wobbly. When it was empty, it had about a 50% chance of standing upright, and even when it decided to stand the slightest touch would send it toppling over. After having it falling over and rolling all over the place a bunch of times, my mom's initial delight at my gift turned meh. I now have to purchase another water bottle for her. Probably will go with hydroflask or something a bit more sturdy this time around. They should perfect the design before selling more.

Cool idea, piece of junk. Developed crack in less than one week.
Total piece of expensive junk. This water bottle is a really cool idea, but within less than a week a small tear developed along one of the soft sections where the bottle compresses into its small size. Also, the cap seemed to leak regardless of what you did with tightening it. For $30, it's an expensive and total loss, and had it not been thrown out by another family member, I would have returned it. A total loss, and letting everyone know, just get something else. Nothing to see here folks. It's not worth it, nor lasts, nor does what it's supposed to do. Yes, move on and get something, anything, else.
