Weight– or lack of to be more precise. Weighing in at 62 lbs. (without the drive unit) the Slayer Propel 10 is the lightest 10′ pedal drive fishing kayak on the market. Light enough to lift car top or effortlessly slide into the back of a pickup, this little titan is the master of hands free fishing. Powered by Native Watercraft’s unique Propel Pedal Drive System which boasts forward and reverse, the Slayer Propel 10 keeps you on the fish and provides a major aid landing the catch of the day. Armchair-comfortable seat, rock-solid stability, clutter-free cockpit: the design empowers even the xxl angler to stand and sight-cast or to just relax and sip the beverage of the day. Propel speeds vary depending on currents and wind, but we find pedaling 3.5 miles per hour all day long smooth and easy. Bow to stern rail mount system means easy on-and-off for rod holders from major brands like Scotty, Ram, Railblaza, and purposely-positioned rails for mounting cameras to capture your trophy catch. SO, HOW FAST DOES IT GO? With relaxed pedaling you can cover 4.2 miles per hour all day, and can push to 5.2 miles per hour when that thunderstorm rolls in. The low profile performs great in the wind, especially when under power and has easy-to-use left hand rudder control. The most versatile pedal-driven fishing kayak on the market, the Slayer Propel excels as well in pedal mode as paddled or poled in the skinny water. The drive unit is designed for 12”-18” minimum depth depending on load.

Faulty Propel - Warranty geared towards local dealers NOT ONLINE PURCHASES
I purchased the Slayer-10 kayak in July 2017. I have followed the maintenance instructions to the letter, even purchasing the lubrication gadget. I've used it in lakes and ponds only - no salt water. I fish, on average onece per week out of the kayak during Apr-Oct. Everything was cool until last week when the pedal system developed a skip. This happened as a result of regular use - no accident or catastrophe. It seems as though one of the internal gears has sheared a tooth or something. So, after the problem, I began hunting down the best way to get it serviced. Since I purchased it here on Amazon, there doesn't seem to be a viable way to have it serviced. Here's what the Native Watercraft website says:In order to take advantage of the Native Watercraft warranty, you must have registered your kayak. To register your boat, please click this link.Once you have registered, if you have a warranty issue arise your first step is to contact the dealer you bought the boat from. To see a current listing of our dealers, please visit our dealer locator here. They will ask you to send in photos, a summary of the problem, proof of purchase, and serial number. Please note that each claim once submitted is review on an individual basis and can take 2-3 days for a response time from Native watercraft."As you can see, there are no instructions for warranty repairs when purchased on Amazon. I'm really hoping that Native Watercraft can fix this since I know I'm not the only one to purchase online!

Great kayak. Rudder could be better though.

Pedals FORWARD and BACKWARDS. Handles LIKE a DREAM
This boat functions like a recumbent bicycle on water. If you are tired of sore neck and shoulders, this will change the experience of kayaking. The seating and pedal position is so comfortable.I can really lean back and motor across a lake.If you are looking to improve handling on a river, there are rudder upgrades available.Generally designed for fishing on lakes, the 13 foot model and the Mariner 12.5 are better on open water, but not all that much better. This is a great boat and fits inside my minivan.
