Entertaining
My grandmother gave me a copy of this book when I was a boy. Her maiden name was West, and Benjamin West was her 3rd great grand-uncle. I thought it was past time for my children to have their own copies. It "paints" an interesting picture of life in a Quaker family in pre-American Revolution Pennsylvania.

Highly reccomend
This book is written well and an enjoyment to read out loud to your kids. Good quality books are hard to find. It is a great historical fiction about a boy and his Quaker family. Some crazy things happen with his cat.The book came in perfect condition and quickly.

Excellent book
I was thankful to find this well written and interesting biography of a highly skilled American artist. The book focuses on his childhood, and is very enjoyable s as a read aloud to children/grandchildren.We are blessed to live near a museum that is home to many of his works, so I was glad to be able to give my grandchildren an introduction to this artist.

Great read aloud
We used this as a home school read aloud and loved it. My art loving daughter wanted to paint every day after we read and my son who doesn't love art still loved the story. The characters drew all of us in.

Kids book fun
Good book; enjoyed reading with grandson. The language accents were sometimes difficult for our grandson, but he was a quick-study 10 year old excellent reader.
