I've been using LED flashlights since they were introduced in the mid-ninties. They weren't much better than basic area lights, and marginal even then in my opinion. They come a long way since then. I was impressed with the darkness penetration this has, it will reach out and illuminate much better than I ever expected, I think even better than the incandescent headlamps of yore....which were, back in the day, pretty good! For the couple bucks this costs I found it to be a great deal. For all you minimalists out there that may think the "third over the head" strap is too much or not needed consider this; when trail hiking in the mountains at night this third strap provides a ton of stability so the light doesn't fall down onto your nose or excessive tightening on the headband to keep it in place.

Let me start by saying that I use this on the job doing TV mounts and wiring, to provide hands free lighting where I need it. The light from this unit is great for my purpose but I would like a version with lithium rechargeable batteries that last longer than alkaline or NIMH. I bought a different unit with a much brighter light and lithium batteries. The brighter unit didn't last four hours on a charge and was actually too bright. I wound up buying a second one of these and modified it. Good value for the price.

Amazingly bright, great for working on your car or having an after dark rock climb. And it's so bright it's practically a lighthouse compared to normal climbing headlamps.Adjusting the lens is tough at first. It's on there really tight, and you just gotta pull and wiggle to get it loose first. If you just keep adjusting it and playing with it, the lens movement becomes smooth and easy, but not loose.Overall great product for the price when you compare it to brand name climbing headlamps.

I didn't want a headlight that uses rechargeable batteries. They don't hold a charge as long as regular batteries and if you are away from an electrical outlet, you can't charge them. I prefer to carry spare AA batteries and that are available almost everywhere. This narrowed my choices down. I never heard of GRDE but based on the number of models they have, they are a big manufacture of headlights. The manufacture that I had heard of, was asking +4 times more. I was concerned, knowing you get what you pay for....so at around $14, I was skeptical. I ordered one and after using it for a few days I ordered 3 more to place in each of my vehicles. They work great, they're bright, etc.....what a bargain.

Dropped light in water too deep to reach during duckhunt. Found it 2 weeks later when water dropped and could reach it.removed batteries, cleaned and dried it, put new batteries in and it worked perfectly.

It’s very bright, lightweight, and comfortable; and can be adjusted from spot to flood, which is VERY useful. I won’t use a headlamp without this feature. The LED Lenser H14 is my benchmark for headlamps, and this one is very close. But mine has a defect. The spot to flood function uses a sliding barrel and mine slides forward anytime I look down, to full spot pattern. It is supposed to have a better friction fit. I will try a hack. I didn’t notice anyone else mentioning this so I would recommend this light.

Due to a medication, I can't work outside during the day. With this light, it shines bright enough for me to tend to my flower beds with ease during the night time. I also work nights so this light is perfect. It is much brighter than I expected. Due to migaines, I have to make sure my eyes are shut when turning it off so the strobe part doesn't trigger a migraine. It also helps if I make sure my eyes stay closed until I turn it off completely due to it being an LED light. I love it and my life has been made so much easier now.

I purchased two of these lamps for an upcoming three-week trip to Africa. When the packages arrived, I open one of them, inserted batteries and it performed fine. On Feb 16, I left for Africa. Upon arrival, I then noticed that one of the two lamp units was defective. It had a broken head strap plastic retainer and the rubber cushion that went over the on-off switch was missing. The lamp was totally useless. I know that I am outside of the return window but I feel that I have circumstances that fall outside of the normal situation. I would like for you to replace the defective lamp. Please respond. Thank you.

Updated: This light is super duper bright and we loved it for the year it worked. The button/connection ceased to work so it's impossible to turn on now. Too bad things these days don't last longer!
