the BEST invention...made with QUALITY!
I am a 67-year-old female, and have weaker wrists as I age. However, I was very surprised to hear the comment of one reader about difficulty using it. I could only assume their wrist strength was unfortunately, and severely, compromised. The QLav is exceptionally well-made...I use mine now 3-5 times a day, and it appears as it did on the first day I received it. When I think of the "list of "things" I'd want to leave my home with in the event of emergency, the QLav is definitely on the top 6-7!I will list the reasons:(1) It has reduced my cost for toilet paper by at least 75%.(2) Because toilet paper is one of the prime irritants, my hemorrhoids have become at least 80% less bothersome, almost negating my costs for tucks, wipes, cortisone creams, and the like. (Prior to the purchase of the QLav, the problem was worsening week by week.)(3) It is amazingly lightweight. While I have not travelled by airplane in a few years, it might subtract the smallest of space in a suitcase, it certainly would not add to the weight! I have traveled frequently by car to friends or relatives, and it ALWAYS goes with me discreetly in a bag.(4) The strength of the water output was PERFECT. I have used several other smaller models...they simply don't get the job done! At the same time, the pleasant "whoosh" of the water has never stung, or been too forceful. As a female it, of course, does "dual" duty!(5) The amount of hand / muscle pressure needed to use is fairly negligible. However, I suppose if one is advanced arthritic, they might use one of the little ones (which in my experience also last about 90 days, and are fairly ineffective.)(6) It holds enough water to accommodate me for at least a day, even based on described usage above.(7) Filling the QLav is remarkably easy. As you notice in the picture, it fills from the bottom...so therefore from any spigot even with limited space.(8) I have been a camper for many years...I only wish these had been on the market then! If one wants to use the whole amount of water on one shot, they can literally lather with soap, and the amount of water is more than enough to rinse all the soap off!(9) The unit never touches your body, so sanitation of the unit is not a real question at all.(10) I have also saved on water usage, because at any given time when I don't really need a full shower, i use the QLav, and feel fresh and ready to go.(11) When I initially purchased it over a year ago, I wanted to know what one might put in the water for extra freshening. I was told by a friend who had one that nothing was really ever needed. I doubted that...but as it turns out, he was correct. Every so often (half a dozen times since I have used it), I might add a TBS of vinegar.(12) The construction of the QLav is wonderful. Since all man-made things eventually wear out, I sometimes wonder how the QLav will, for it shows absolutely no difference since I got it out of the box.(13) Here is a way that I use mine which is likely not within the initial intent of the mfgr. Sometimes, washing the hair of the elderly or the very young when they are sick or confined to bed, is difficult, to say the least. I used the QLav for a senior who simply lay back on her bed, with her neck on a plastic dishpan whose edge was covered with a soft cloth. It was SIMPLE to give her a full and wonderful shampoo which she greatly appreciated! I used the same method with my grand daughter when she was in bed after an accident, and when hairwashing was next to impossible! The QLav also works very compatibly with a bedpan, when necessary.I have recommended this to friends who are physicians, and have mentioned it in two natural health stores. I would, without even one hesitation, fully recommend this as MORE than well worth the small investment! Mine fully paid for itself (water, toilet tissue, cortisone cream, wipes, etc.) within 2-3months!Today, October 17, 2013Well, here it is almost three years later. I remain thrilled with my QLav. There is a very minimal time of learning curve, but I could never be without it. I certainly have packed it for automobile travel, but it is a bit large for airline/plane travel. For those isolated times, I have a smaller, portable one to put in my purse...but it is indeed small. After three years of continued use, I can easily attest to the quality, over time, of this product. So, while it may appear "expensive" (as one wrote), I view about $13/year for this item as a real bargain. I usually use tap water, but occasionally have used warm water, or even added a bit of vinegar....all work very well! So, at age 70, I regard this as a permanent choice, and have seen nothing yet to replace its value.

Excellent, Leak-Free Spray Bottle
The QLav is very easy to use. I have put 40 ounces of liquid in it and there was still some room to spare. This is nice for home-use but would be way too big to put in your purse for travel purposes. It is very easy to squeeze and does not spray at all until you squeeze it. I use it in the shower (with a vinegar/water mix) so I cannot speak to how well it works on the toilet. I only fill it up every few days and the liquid does feel better the first day when it is still warm. It can be a little uncomfortable with room-temperature liquid. The manufacturer even provides an extra lid with spray holes and an extra closed lid that both have replacement rubber seals in the original package. They also say that if you send them a self-addressed stamped envelope that they will mail more to you for free. I have no complaints about this product and it does what it says it will do.

This is not what you expect it to be :(
I had a lot of expectations when I searched for and found this product. Unfortunately, it didn't even come up to 10% of my expectations. The reason?1. It's too big and cumbersome.2. I'm a guy of average build(maybe I can squeeze into the "thin" category too) and still found it very difficult to position it into the space in front to spray the water.3. The product features are nice to read, but impractical in real life :(I think I wouldnt be able to use it. I'll stash it somewhere, maybe to use as a watering can for plants.Buying this is the worst way to spend $38, rather donate it for educating the poor or something!

It was just too large
This was a great item, but I had to return it because it was just too large for me to use. It is really designed more for people who have a larger commode (more oval -- mine is a small, round one). But I still appreciated many things about this item -- I loved that it was made in the U.S.A. and it had a very sturdy feel and was so easy to fill. I wish this company made a smaller version -- that would have been perfect, but, alas, it did not.

Good BUT you need a large toilet seat opening!
Honestly, this is a good product that's sturdy and well-made. It holds more water than most portable bidets on the market; enough for several uses without being refilled. It doesn't leak. You can hang it or stand it on the floor. It's easy to gently squeeze out a big stream of water. You have to put the QLAV spout in front between your legs. (It doesn't work from behind.)WARNING: You NEED a large toilet seat for this. The opening needs enough space in front of you to put the entire bidet spout in and maneuver it around. Otherwise, it's hard not to touch your private bits, and very hard to aim it at your bum hole without spraying water out the back of the toilet. (Because you can't move the bidet forward enough and it sprays too far back.) The curved spout of the QLAV takes up more space than other portable bidets. The opening in my toilet seat is 9.5 inches deep, and I have an average M size ladies bum (not overweight), but it was still not enough space to use the QLAV. I think you would need a toilet seat with an opening that's at least 12 inches deep to comfortably use this (maybe more if you're overweight).

Does the job, intelligent device, best out there so far.
After searching tens of similar solutions, either manual or electrical, this is a very good one which does the job. It is big enough, and simple to use. It will immediately drop water from the holes when first in position, no matter how tight you screw the main screw, yet it is a small issue compared with good streaming with good pressure. The design is intelligent, simple and really work, and I advise this device for all in need, it is best out there for the purpose, till someone invents something better.

Not soft enough to squeeze for firm spray
Disappointed! Shape is good and holds good amt of water... But just not soft enough, have to squeeze too hard to get a good spray. Too expensive for what it does.
