Wolverine Jig Base

I like the tool, only downfall this tool should not cost $100 a more reasonable cost would be $50.00. Overall tool well made have not used it yet looks well designed and looks to be a useful tool to have. I would be reluctant to pay full price of tool but would buy again. The only manufactureing flaw I saw was the L handle tightening piece to adjustable plate was hard to start on the adjustment bolt . Thread was slightly gualded. Installed but hard to tighten. I can fix though. OVERALL GOOD TOOL

Well made and easy to use!

This base is great for mounting several different tool posts for the grinder. It can be mounted on either wheel and if you take some time it canl be switched from side to side in other words is reversible. I liked it so much I bought another one so I can mount a grinding table /tool rest on one side and a diamond truing tool on the other without having to remount the base to the other wheel. The red lever is a cam clamp that allows you to re-position the tool rest or switch tools quickly. It is heavy duty and if you do a lot of grinding and wheel dressing this is a great addition for your grinder. Note: I had to remount my grinder with a one inch thick block under it to allow the base to work, no biggy.

This is my sixth one. I know I sound compulsive but each of my grinding wheels has a Jig base. I've even made large custom tool rests. The Jig base could be a little heavier or wider to avoid side play but as a grinder rest it's very good. I've standardize on the Wolverine so I can interchange the wolverine attachments and my custom bases with each machine. This makes grinding/sharpening very convenient. It doesn't matter; plane irons, drill bits, lathe tools, finger nails, it's all good:)

The Wolverine sharping system is great. This base is just one part, I have the other parts too.

I purchased the base by itself to complete the new Wolverine grinding jig. The local store where I purchased the grinding jig did not sell the base by itself, they required the purchase of the complete system to obtain the base.

I've used these jigs for several years and recently bought an additional platform. These are easy to install and very reliable for sharpening tools and other items. I have the complete wolverine system and wouldn't trade it for any system of which I am aware.

This base holds it’s tool rest so that when you have some on the rest to be sharpen everything is solid. Makes it easy to sharpen tools, blades of any kind or to simply grind something down.
