Bright, Smart and Vivid Addition to Any Desk Setup!
*edit*I added an additional star because I discovered that you don’t actually need to use your phone mic for the music sync, the cololight pro has a built in mic and it is far superior. It works brilliantly and is still fully customisable. Just took me a little while to discover! 1 week in, I couldn’t be happier with the lights!Like many that have purchased this product before, after exploring the purchase of nanoleaf, I decided that it was just too expensive and went in search of alternatives.I’ve had the cololight for just over a day now and have explored just about all they have to offer. The packaging is tally really impressive and the lights themselves, whilst being very light weight, do have a feel of quality to them. After connecting them into a basic formation, which was really easy to do, I powered the light on and was reasonably impressed by the brightness and colour.Connecting the lights to the app was reasonably simple, although it rejected my WIFI network several times before accepting (make sure you’ve got a strong wifi signal). Once connected to the app I realised the lights were set to 30% brightness - I was actually blown away when I set them to full. They are incredible bright, the colours are vivid and the LED’s are seamless so no colour mixing noticeable. The default dynamic modes are perfect, but you can make custom ones in the app and there are thousands of combinations to choose from. The solid colours look stunning too, and there’s a whole palette tool for creating custom colours - literally millions to chose from using sliders for hue and saturation. The music sync mode is good, just bare in mind that it works off of your phone microphone which is a little frustrating. I certainly don’t want to drain my phone’s battery constantly just to sync the lights to music! The light units themselves are small, so the option that comes with a minimum of 6 lights is a must! I genuinely wouldn’t consider these as a ‘knock off nanoleaf’. I genuinely see these as an alternative product to nanoleaf. Both products could easily be used in tandem - they’d look great together. So it’s been a day and I’m already considering buying another set of 6 lights!Yes they’re expensive, but they are in no means ‘knock off’ or ‘poor made’ they are their own product, and I’m really pleased with them!I gave 4 stars due to attempting to connect to my WiFi 4 times before it actually worked. And also due to the fact that the music sync was a bit of a disappointment, especially having to make use of your phone’s microphone.

Superb, bright, infinitely customisable, static and dynamic light
I bought one of these after looking at similar competitors' products and saw this as an interesting alternative so thought I'd try it out.I'm super glad I did as it is absolutely fabulous! The unit I purchased came with six hexagonal panels and is the (optionally) music-activated one.The panels are sturdy and well constructed, and, owing to their hexagonal shape, can be configured in many different patterns (much like a small section of honeycomb). Each panel isn't huge - it's a little smaller than the palm of my hand, but it has a solid feel and contains a matrix of 19 super bright leds (also in a hexagonal configuration) which mean that many dynamic effects are possible within each panel and also transitioning across an array of panels. The music-driven effects really wow and add another dimension to listening to your favourite tunes. The only downsides to this product are that the base looks a little incongruous (it's a pale speckled 1980s looking composite stone type substance) but to be honest, you don't really notice it next to the light panels, especially when they are on brightly. The other slight worry is that the connecting piece between the base and the rest of the panels is rather small and so I worry that if I had too many then it would be at risk of snapping off. That said, I've got lots of them mounted above the base and it hasn't broken yet!In summary, this is a well made, bright, colourful addition to any room. I liked it so much that I bought another 20 panels so have 26 in total...!The worst thing about this is that you'll want to cover an entire wall with them :-)

Cheaper alternative to nano leaf but a little smaller
Brightness is fantasticSuper easy to installFor the price the size is greatColour is fantastic the only downside is there is limited effects/colour combinations especially when it comes to custom effects.I also had a little trouble when updating the firmware I took around 10 attempts to complete after saying network timeout over and over, just keep trying and it will eventually succeed

A bit fiddly but look good once put together and connected
I bought these as a cheaper option to Nanoleaf lights. However, I don't think they can be compared. The hexagons in these lights are smaller and thicker than the Nanoleaf panels. They work well on their base as a table lamp, but I'm not sure how they would look on the wal, being that they are thicker. You would also need a lot more than the 6 hexagons that come in this set to create a nice shape on a wall, whereas I believe the 9 panels that come with a base pack in Nanoleaf would almost be sufficient to have build a pleasing pattern. I've already bought 3 extra hexagons because I thought the 6 in the base pack were too few even for a table lamp.My other complaint is around the set-up. They connected right away when I took them out of the box and plugged them in, but then later they seemed to have lost the connection with the app and it took me a long time to convince them to join the same wifi network they had connected to the first time with no issue. I almost gave up.They do look nice and have few patterns included in the app, with the ability to create your own patterns either at the individual LED level or the hexagon level. I suspect one could spend a lot of time creating a pattern.I am pleased with my purchase and will definitely use them and enjoy them, but I will probably look again at the Nanoleaf for my wall idea.
