Bargain Hunt

Just bought this to use at club nights for a walking/social group I belong to. Tried it out with 3 friends and it's pretty easy to get the hang of.Each person/team selects 3 antiques from 3 different valuation categories by looking at the various cards displayed on the board - like looking round an antique shop. You can aim to reduce the price paid by rolling one of dice a number of times depending on it's price range.Once this part of the game is done all the unused cards are removed and it's time for the auction. Each pleayer/team has also been delt one card which can be played to influence the price of the antique, it can be played against another team - say to halve the opening bid, or on your own sale item to double the opening bid.The first player/team places their item for sale card on the board face down revealing the opening bid price. That team then roll another dice to try and increase the selling price, the dice is continued to be rolled until GOING has been thrown twice. Then switching to a final dice it's a last chance to keep increasing the price until GONE has been thrown. The process is repeated for each team and antique bought. At the end you tot up on the score pad whose made the most profit. It's over quite quickly so you can easily set up the board with new antiques for sale and repeat the game as many times as you want to fill an hour or so.

I bought this game because I thought it would be fun but I don't remember ever getting roung to playing it - may be when the children who were born since I bought it are older!

At last! Based on the show that make antique-hunting sexy, they have finally released a board game of 'Bargain Hunt'!It really is a cracking buy bargin-hunters. It's not that difficult to master: the main object of the game is to hunt for itmes at the 'Antiques Fair' to sell at the auction for profit. It all depends on the luck of the dice, but in the world of dealing it's a dog-eat-dog world, as Del Boy once said!Any show presented by David 'the Duke' Dickinson deserves a board game, and this one is as cheap as chips compared with others on the market. My family and I are still having fun mastering the auction - go on bargain hunters, BUY BUY BUY!! It's a real bobby dazzler!!

This is a terrific game. The fairly basic premise of the game and easy to follow instructions mean that you'll be up and running in just a few minutes.Suitable for the whole family, the game involves choosing the best "lots" to buy and take to auction - the outcome of which is controlled by the dice - with the added fun of picking the right time to advance your profits (or scupper the chances of a fellow player) with a special "auction event" card.The game can keep you entertained for quite a while, and is a great way to fill a quiet evening with the family. My only complaint would be the small quantity of score pads - although this is fairly commonplace with games, and any paper will do the trick really.All in all, I'd thoroughly recommend the game.

We always look for a good christmas game so we ordered this at the end of October.I am not a fan of David but I thought the game looked ok so we played.I have to say it is great fun! the auctions are very tactical but also hilarious as you outbid your gran for a cheap vase that you wouldn't have in your house if it was free.A great family game but make sure that the kids are at least 10 or they will find it hard to play.Highly recommended.
