Build quality is great! Warranty and product support is bad
I bought this hard disk last year. So far no problem with the performance and it has taken good amount of beating but since last 6 months it is sitting on my work desk. It works great for multimedia projects. 6 months back it's power adapter stopped working and I reached out to the tech support team. They responded but did not offer a replacement due to the fact that the charger had less warranty than the hard disk. So my charger ran out of warranty. As stated on their website:"The warranty period for all components other than the main product is ninety (90) days"Now I had to buy a new charger to use it.

Versatile Product
The LaCie external drive came with several kinds of cords with various connections depending on what kinds of uses you might connect the drive to. It was easy to connect to my computer and start backing up files as advertised.I registered it right away. I am pleased.

I have three of the 6tb drives and one of the 4 tb drives and they all still work perfectly.
The drives are quiet and reliable.

This is a terrible purchase - these discs die losing all your data and content
Disk lasted 2 days before starting to beep (heads got stuck). Apparently this is a very common issue which speaks loudly of the quality of the product (trash). Amazon reimbursed quickly, however nothing was to be done about the data I lost.

Failed first try.
I’m a Lacie customer of 20 years. In that time, only one hard drive has failed out of more than a half dozen. This one failed on the first information transfer. Very surprised. Sent it back.
