Hit lights 24volt dimmers driver
Works great for led tape lighting. I installed U channel with frosted lens under the cabinets , ran 18/2 wire from the existing switch box to each set of lights. , i then installed the 24 volt dimmer with the 24 volt hit lights tape light 3000k and they work perfect. I recommend using a tape light with 350 lumens per foot or better for the maximum light possible, then dim it to your liking.

Although priced somewhat on the high side, it has a proven track record in terms of reliability
I have successfully used these transformers for powering and dimming LED lighting, installed on my kitchen remodel project. My clients really like them and I haven’t had any of them fail. Also, I’ve installed one when I had done my own kitchen. The undercabinet lighting had since been used daily with no issues.

Very nice item. Along with the lights and some low-voltage wire, we love it
Kitchen remodel project with new cabinets. They work beautifully. We love how they turn off slowly (not that slow, but not instantly) and it's great to be able to adjust the brightness to whatever level is appropriate. The lighting really shows the countertops off beautifully. We have one of these controlling a section of LEDs that is about 5' long and another controlling the main section, which runs for the equivalent of about 10' of lights and about maybe 12' of low-voltage wire connecting up three cabinet groups. Nobody else that I know of has noticed this, but if you compare the brightness of the two "strings" when they are all the way up, the longer section is not quite as bright as the short section since it's powering such a longer string, but they are on opposite sides of the room and this is not an issue.Bought these and 32' of LED light strip along with some low-voltage wire. Also picked up a cheap soldering iron ($10) and did this job myself. The remodeling company wanted $1800 for the job, but since I have done electrical wiring many times before, I took this part for myself after the new cabinets were installed and before they did the backsplash and sheet rock and painting. Total cost for me was just about $330 and I have the satisfaction that I accomplished it myself. Check local code, but likely states that you can't put these in same box next to a 120V switch or outlet. Was told that the current of the other circuit could "jump over" and burn the low voltage circuitry out, but was also told that if you DO put in same box, you should put some sort of barrier/separator in between the two switches.Having under-cabinet LEDs is so worth the money as it looks great and it's quite helpful. These switches make it a "finished job" and the convenience of these as opposed to having to plug in when needed and unplug when done is, for me, very much worth it. Love the fact that the HitLight company is USA-owned also.

Second chance
I installed this on 3/26/2024 and it didn’t last a year. I’m ordering a new one today ( 3/13/2025) . It’s a great idea for a product to go from 120v-12v on a dimmer but I hope this one last longer. Thank goodness I’m an electrician and don’t have to call one to do it.

Great Product
This is a great product specially if you already have under counter lighting wires and want to switch to a tape light.

Compact
Switchex is a powerful and compact solution to the transformer application. You no longer have to have a transformer between the dimmer and the lights since Switchex acts as an all in one solution. It’s a little pricey at $140-160, but the transformer application will already have you buying a $70 transformer and a Lutron 300P ELV dimmer at $80, so costs just as much.Haptic feel: Button on the bottom acts as on on-off switch. Button is springy and goes in and out to activate. This isn’t a flip switch. Doesn’t feel cheap. Button activates a little plastic click when pushed in. Dimmer tab is very smooth to operate.Use: Lights turn on instantly when activated. Turning off the lights is different. When the button is pushed in to turn off, lights remain activated for 1 second. The strip lights don’t instantly turn off but rather graduate to off by dimming down to off over the course of another second. It’s pretty nice actually because it’s a gentle off powering transition from lit to off.Overall, I am very pleased, and I hope it will hold up. The 5 year warranty delivers peace of mind.Pictures will be coming soon. Switchex was paired with waterproof Hitlights. Lights were placed in a hidden cove in the shower to light-wash the tiled wall.
