When I charged this for the first time, I returned to my bench about a day later and smelled very hot electronics. This battery grew so hot in the charger, on all surfaces, that I could barely hold it. That is not safe or comfortable, and probably degraded the battery appreciably.It mated with with the Panasonic screwdriver handle perfectly, and seemed to run the tool OK. Even the handle of the tool feels hot after inserting it.

I have been looking for replacements for 6 months, finally found them! After a few months of use, they still hold a charge and function well.

Great battery! Charges quickly and holds a charge for a long time.
