Love can be right in front of you …
Being a part of Kendall and Payton’s journey was a gift. There was so much love, respect, validation, and humor. A very good read. I heartily and enthusiastically recommend all works by Kristen Zimmer. She has a wonderful writing style and brings the reader in from the very beginning. I look forward to reading more of her works. Thank you. Peace

Perfect Holiday Read
Rating (/5): 4.0Story thesis: Mild spoilers ahead: Kendall and Payton are best friends. They've been best friends forever and still are even though Kendall is a world famous teen movie star: Payton being Kendall's `rock'. However Payton is gay and actually in love with Kendall..who then works out she may or may not also have feelings for Payton. Can their friendship survive these possible new feelings amidst the very superficial celebrity world Kendall inhabits.Age of protagonists: 18/19Romance Arc: Sexuality awakening, unrequited love..is it unrequited..mutual affectionLesbian status One out. One `awakening'Sex Scenes: Not reallyHappy Ending: YesBest Feature of story: Enjoyable read with nicely developed characters. Enough drama to keep it interesting and genuine chemistry between our two protagonists.Worst Features of story Requires a decent amount of suspension of belief in terms of the actual set up- Mega movie star and music prodigy..both unbelievably gorgeous (Payton keeps being asked if she's a model), and the ending. I also felt the characters seemed far older than the 18 or 19 they were supposed to be.Any supernatural elements: No.Best suited for: Good solid holiday read. Kick back and dive in.Recommend to: If you like your lesbian romances with glamour, romance and drama (which let's face it, most of us do)- it's a great example of the genre.Would read other books by author, based on this one: I would indeed, this was a good debut novel: well written, reasonable length and a satisfying (if not a little unlikely) ending.

Damn fine read! Awesome coming out story and sweet romance. Read it!
What a sweet romance and coming out story. How do you tell your best friend you've been in love with her forever? How do you learn to let go of your fears and allow your heart to lead you to true love? How do you learn to shut out the world and live an authentic life? This is a well-written story of two 19 yr olds who have been best friends forever. They both rely on each other for emotional support, friendship and honesty, and each is struggling with coming of age walking on a tightrope. One is coming to grips with her realization that not only is she gay, but the love of her life is her best friend, and she fears that telling her will drive her away. The other is learning to live in the public eye, surviving constant exposure and scrutiny of her every move. Nothing is easy about growing up, but these girls face some tough challenges. The author did such a fine job of fleshing out the characters and making me care for each, with so much honest emotion, that I freely admit I found myself crying more than once. I also especially love her use of the literary device of alternating narrators, with chapters alternately told in one of the two main characters point of view. It allows the writer opportunity to immerse the reader in so much more detail, bringing the whole story to life, deepening our understanding of each character, our attraction to each, and the whole story. This author used it masterfully.Payton and Kendall are not juvenile at all, nor overly adult, but presented in a very honest, straight forward way. Acting as young adults are today, facing so many temptations, pitfalls and their own fears, just learning how to live, grow up, love themselves, and hopefully find real love.Another reviewer said they would definitely read a sequel to this story. I'm not big on sequels, I prefer stories that aren't deliberately left hanging, but with 'real' endings, not necessarily tied up in a neat little bow, but I do like to know that the author gives the protagonists closure. Sequels rarely have the same depth and strength as the original story, but this author has made me care so much about these girls, and the book was so entertaining and well written, I think the author could pull it off, and it would be fun to see how Payton and Kendall are doing in the future.Damn fine read. I want more from Kristen Zimmer.

Mediocre and ridiculous
I only went through all of it to see if it could change my mind, but it didn’t. Even though the plot is not bad, it’s very poorly written, it’s super childish and even ridiculous. The protagonists are supposed to be 19 but the characters voices seem 15. I wouldn’t recommend reading this, there’s fan fiction on wattpad and even tumblr that is far better than this book.

Loved every bit of it
I hold this book very close to my heart. It was one of the first lesbian romance books I've read, and I still like to go over it from time to time. The book is perfect, (aside from the fact that it ends eheh), the flow Is very very smooth, the characters are so fresh and vivid it seems like I know them. The first part of the books is the part I prefer as it is so funny I burst laughing outloud so many times...Also it isn't so angsty as most of the similar books you can find around, if I had to compare it to lesbian movies I'd say it's the Imagine Me & You out of all of them.A warm thank you to the Author for creating this book.

A good coming outstory and f/f romance.
I loved this story of best friends finding love. Kendall is a new Hollywood star and her best friend Payton, who plays and writes music, revels she is gay, she is cool with that. Then we go a journey as Kendall discovers her own real sexuality. There is rejection and fear, but in the end love, both of family and of their hearts won. I recommend this book.
