Intellibed Gel Adjustable Foam Pillow, Standard

I am extremely picky on my pillows and have only found one in the past which was perfect, the AbsolutelyNew side sleeper pillow. Unfortunately that one is no longer available and as I have had the old one for several years it was time to replace it. I tried the Intelligel pillow with some trepidation but was in the end very satisfied. The shape is great and the pump works very well to adjust the neck position. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is that it is just a bit thin even after pumping. So I added in to the pillowcase the thinnest layer from my former pillow and not the fit for my neck is perfect.

I really had high hopes for this pillow and liked to idea of adjustable cervical support. However, for me at least, this pillow is too soft and the neck roll does not inflate sufficiently to provide enough support. When it's fully inflated, the neck roll is higher in the middle and tapers off on both sides. I ended up replacing the adjustable cushion with a foam noodle roll, and that helped quite a bit, though it's not adjustable. One thing good about this pillow is that it seems to stay fairly cool, but for the cost, it should be better.

I am a back and side sleeper, mostly side, though I try to remain on my back as long as possible (better for your face/skin) - Plagued by neck discomfort from ordinary pillows, I moved to Memory Foam which was good briefly; the problem with Memory Foam is it loses memory fast and flattens out quickly over time. I wake up 6-8 times a night. I consistently awake in the morning with stiff neck/shoulder and pain.Last night was my first night with this pillow. I slept through the whole night!! In fact, I just ordered another. AND I'm taking the time to write a review which is huge.The pillow is foam on the inside, but then covered with this strange blue gel. It does come in a zippered cover that is well made.When it arrived, the pillow was inserted backwards in its cover, so I had to take it out and turn it to access the hand pump. It is easy and quick to inflate by squeezing and remains inflated. The pump is small and soft and in no way can you feel it when using the pillow.Not only can you inflate the neck roll to your comfort level, but as you move in the night, the neck part "moves" with you. It really cradles your neck dynamically - and just feels delicious....there is no resistance or hard surface your spine is rubbing against. It changes shape as you rotate your head and continuously supports the motion.I am a huge fan and am now beginning to wonder what the mattresses this company sells are like!!!I'll update this later if the pillow loses it's form or function - remember this is only my first night with it - but so far - I feel like it's worth every penny.

I only gave 3 stars because I just received the pillow and you're been hounding me to review it several times. I haven't even slept on it yet. People live busy lives and cannot get to things as fast as you would like them to. Sorry to give just 3 stars. It might be a great pillow but I haven't used it yet. Contact me in another month (if you even read these and think about our responses).

This is a great pillow. Maybe just a little on the firm side, but I like it and it support my head and neck well. The foam works great and doesn't seem to take a set at all. Plus the air pump feature allow you to customize the height based on whether you are a side sleeper or back sleeper to a level that is comfortable. I have had problem with neck pain in the past from pillows that lose their form. So far so good on this one.

I've been sleeping on my intelli-gel pillow for 8 nights now & couldn't be more pleased. I have cervical spine issues that have kept me from getting a good nights sleep for 5 years. I've tried every pillow out there with marginal results, adjusting & readjusting whatever pillow I was using multiple times each night. Finally, a pillow that really makes sense! It took me several adjustments (before bedtime) to determine the perfect inflation for me and it's been perfect ever since. Reading other reviews, I was hesitant to pump it up too much but found that I needed quite a bit. No problem, it's so quick & easy to use & the small pump is nonintrusive. I will purchase an extra for travel because i can't imagine living without it. Worth every penny!

I HATE writing bad reviews. This pillow was heavy and super hard. The form and the air chamber were great, but it was so hard! The gel did nothing to soften it and it was quite pointless being in there. It also had a chemical smell. So bummed. Sending it back. Sorry!

This had been recommended to be by my massage therapist. Tried to buy this at a local store (albeit on the other side of town), but they were always out. Amazon delivered in two days and the price was the same. Product is high quality and very comfortable to sleep on.
