Happy Camper
This is the perfect fix for an older GPSr. I don't like the new Garmin software/interface, particularly the need to use BaseCamp. I hate BaseCamp but you can't add/remove waypoints (favorites) or maintain your database without it. I'm an old school MapSource user... plain, simple, easy to use. Now I don't have to buy a new GPSr and I can continue to use MapSource. With a little care, installing the new battery is easy enough. The instructions are clear and the supplied tools are adequate. The hardest part is removing the old battery. Garmin must use Gorilla Glue, I thought I would crack the case trying to get it out. Keep the unit flat on the table and gently continue to pry with the supplied tool or similar object. Eventually it'll break free. Install the replacement, carefully reassemble the unit, give it a charge and you're good to go!

YES! It saved my GPS and saved my budget too!
When my Garmin Nuvi 1450LMT wouldn't turn on, I thought it was toast. On a whim, I googled Garmin Nuvi troubleshooting and this item popped up. I'm glad to say it absolutely worked for me.You get the battery, a small torx screwdriver, and a plastic prying tool, and a disc with a video. I watched the online video twice before I attempted the battery replacement and once again while doing it. Everything went perfectly, not any problems at all!Once installed the GPS turned on right away. I updated the maps via Garmin.com and now my Novi seems even quicker than before.PS. We took a road trip before we received the battery kit and tried using our iPhones for navigation. There's no comparison, having a dedicated GPS is still superior than an app. Using the iPhone it just sucked up data and wore the battery out.

Decent, with a few minor issues
Overall this is a decent option, the battery appears to be of good construction, just as all other NewPower99 batteries I have had are. This would be rated 5 stars, except for the following issues:This instruction video comes on a mini cd. This seems like an odd choice when so many computers (all of mine included) use slot loading drives that can't handle the small CDs. That being said, it is very easy to find the video on Youtube, so this is a minor point, but one that should be made. This device uses Torx T5 screws and the kit comes with a T4, it works on some of the screws, if you are very careful, but the proper sized driver is essential to be able to get all of the screws out. This meant I had to buy another tool set just to get all of the screws out. This may not be an issue for you if you already have a decent set of Torx driversOne other item that isn't mentioned is to secure the new battery with tape or something else to prevent it from rattling around when reassembled. This is also a very important step in this type of device, as the movement of the vehicle would cause a lot rattling and noise from this device. Again, no adhesive is included in the kit and it probably should be, but tape is cheap and works well, just be careful not to cover up anything important, such as heat sinks, screw holes, etc.

A Good Re-Power for Your Garmin
This is a fine kit. The video is just what you need. The included tools perform just as in the video. As others have commented, the original battery you are removing from the Garmin has adhesive on the back. By gently lifting more of the circuit board, you can slide a flexible kitchen frosting spatula slowly underneath the battery until it pulls free. NOTE... if you have an expansion memory chip installed, any accidental pressure during this process might cause it to pop out. It might be best to remove the chip (push in on it gently, then release) before beginning and then re-install at the end. I had a little difficulty getting the "trim screen" to reinstall, but finally got it. This package is worth it and truly restores the power to your Garmin!

Extended life battery did not last one week.
Installed the battery and the unit powered up and then went dead. Battery was charged overnight and when tested the unit came on. I removed the unit from the charger. One week later I attempted to turn the unit on and it was dead. I charged the battery again for over one hour and the Garmin unit would not power up. The battery is useless and not as advertised. The battery advertisement lead me to believe that it was from Garmin but it is not labeled Garmin and is made in China. Certainly not the product advertised.

Perfect Replacement for OEM Nuvi 1450 Battery
Perfect Replacement for the OEM Nuvi 1450 Battery. The tools included in the kit were sufficient for the task of replacing the original battery. The hardest part was removing the old battery that was stuck on the base with some serious adhesive. I just worked the plastic pry tool back and forth under the battery little by little until it finally came out. The NewPower battery fit perfectly in the recess, and after plugging it in and turning on the power, showed 100% charged. After reassembly I connected the unit to USB cable and Anker USB wall charger to let it charge overnight.I’ll update this review if there are any issues as far as poor battery performance is concerned.

This Battery works well for the Nuvi 1450
The battery works well and was not too bad to install. They sent the wrong size tool, but sent the correct one after I emailed them to let them know.

A great way to save your GPS from extinction
I was ready to replace my trusted Garmin Nuvi 1450 with a new model due to a dead battery. I decided, however, instead to attempt to replace the battery after reading less than stellar reviews of the new Garmins. My old Nuvi always got me there so I decided to go with the Newpower 99 battery replacement. After watching the Youtube video (the CD is not necessary) I was pretty confident I could take the Nuvi apart and put it back together without destroying it. Everything went well except for one thing. The Torx driver that came in the package to remove the tiny screws was of poor quality and as a result, I struggled to get all the screws out (6) in total. I would recommend that you have on hand a Torx screwdriver with multiple Torx bits so you can successfully remove the screws (see attached picture). Other than that I am very happy I was able to save the Nuvi from the graveyard. I have no idea how long the battery will last but even if I get a few years out of it I'll be very happy. The original one lasted over 5 years.

Easy to intall-fits like a glove and cheaper than having it done by GARMIN
Hello, went on the internet directly instead of using the installation CD included and install the new battery.Had to install a piece of electrical tape on the rear of the battery so it would not move.Original battery had a sticky tape to it so it would not move.It seems everything is working perfectly but I will see in the future if it hold its charge because I use the Gps a lot on my scooter so the battery is used a lot without being recharched. Will keep you posted.A good buy because I was told by the GARMIN'S authorised repair shop that they would send my GPS to GARMIN and they would send a refurbished unit for over 100 $ because according to them the battery cannot be replaced by them.
