I have not tested this product on my cat yet. I have it laying on my counter because he keeps jumping from the table to the counter. I had watched the video on here that said it didn't work and beware. The video shows the guy running his hand over the mat and not getting a charge. I did that to and felt nothing. I bumped it up to the medium setting and kept running my hand over it and got nothing. If you read the directions, it states they have to touch two wires to get a shock. Try this...put one hand on the mat and then put your other hand a little further down the mat. I got zapped pretty darn hard. An animal has 4 feet so if 2 feet touch a different wire...they should get zapped. I know it works so will see how my cat does when he steps on it.

Loved It! I put this on the sofa, and the entrance to my kitchen. It is safe, easy to use and it does't harm my dog. I tried it myself and it just feels like a static touch. I'm gonna leave you all a video saying how to turn it off and on, just so you can see how easy it is.

I assume it works because my expensive sofa has not been peed on by my cat since I bought it, and she's not the type to give up easily once she sets her mind to any form of destruction. Only time I've heard the alarm go off was when a dog I was sitting for tried to get on the couch. He promptly changed his mind. About to buy another one now that I know this works so well.

I was hesitant to buy this product for months, but vacuuming my brand new sofa 2-3 times a week wasn't giving me much time to play and take care of my fury baby. I don't regret my decision, after a couple of weeks my dog finally understood the limits. After a few months with the mat in place, she won't jump on to the couch (even if the mat is off or I I forget to put it on). Now less cleaning more dog park and hiking. Great product!

I hate that I had to resort to this, but I have a cat that keeps ruining couches because of his separation anxiety. He urinated on them. So far, since getting these, he has only done it once, and it's been weeks. The only thing I could say is that I really wish they were a little wider and a little longer. I had to improvise add they were not big enough for any couch, especially a sectional. Rudie figured it out once and went on a spot that they didn't cover until I rigged it.

Based on site alone, it kept my dogs off the couch, but one decided to test it out today. I assume he thinks its a massage apparatus for dogs? My other 3 dogs are afraid of the mat. Also, the company is reputable and the communication is great, so if you need to contact them about anything, they will get back to you ASAP.

Unfortunately, this pad did not work for either of our 3 dogs, 2 labs and one smaller lap dog. When we are in the room they know to stay of the couch, but as soon as we leave the house or go to bed they will drag everything off the couch to ‘stretch’ out. Since they have experience with training collars, we had hoped this pad would have a similar affect, but when we were away. Touching the contacts sends a nice static shock as well as a warning beep, similar to a training collar. The first day neither dog cared to go near the couch, but by the second day, both labs were laying on the matt (brand new battery) with the little dog crushing the back cushion. Touching the rear contacts still delivers a warning beep and a static discharge, but only a few places on the front would complete the circuit. We did not have much better luck on the floor, we could walk the dogs all around it trying to get them to 'learn' it was an unpleasant pad they should want to stay away from, but their foot pads would never complete the circuit. I wish this was a proximity or pressure sensitive pad, we would have been much happier with it. But, will just return it and look for another solution.

My puppy would dig into our brand new sectional to hide her toys. It was so horrible and it was hard to correct because she would do it when she was alone. This stopped that habit real quick hahah. Both of the dogs are afraid of it and stay away!
