Sushi at Home: A Mat-to-Table Sushi Cookbook Kindle Edition

I have never made sushi before in my life and although I absolutely love eating sushi this book is definitely not great for someone with absolutely no experience making it. I would definitely recommend it for someone who has prior knowledge of making sushi since the recipes and other aspects of the book are great. Sadly when it comes to teaching you how to make the sushi the book falls flat. There are illustrations of how to filet and slice fish, and roll sushi, and make a variety of kinds of sushi however they are hand drawn, not actual pictures and they really don't help me at all. Maybe it's my learning style since I am a very visual and hands on learner but the illustrations just confuse me.Otherwise I think it's a very well written book with great sushi recipes. My sushi hasn't been pretty but it has tasted good! The recipes the book have great descriptions of the ingredients for the recipes including what kind of rice is best, how to cook sushi rice, the best types of fish to use, what equipment you need to make the sushi, and even the best knifes to use. The directions for the recipes themselves are quite detailed and well written. I think if I had someone teach me how to properly make the sushi that this book would be a very useful resource for delicious recipes! *I received this book at a discount in exchange for my honest review

The Sushi at Home Cookbook is wonderful! I can save a ton of money by this. I love Sushi but it gets expensive. This book teaches you everything from cooking the rice, cutting the fish, and step by step instructions from there. The soups and salads is a plus for sure. I know my husband is very happy we bought this book. If you're a sushi lover, you have to try this. Its the best. You can't go wrong with it.

But wouldn't it be great if you could make it at home? Well now you can. Sushi At Home is a wonderful book that teaches you step by step what you need to know about making sushi, in this easy to follow along book. At first glance, sushi can look a bit intimidating. You will be surprised at how simple it can be to prepare. You may not know it, but not all sushi is raw, however for those who do love eating raw sushi, there is are wonderful recipes, and the book also tells you how to select the freshest fish. One of my favorites happens to be the California roll, and it is very easy to make at home. As a matter of fact, I make it quite often and it's always a hit. One of the things I love about this book, is it tells you exactly what you need from start to finish in order to create mouth watering sushi at home. You will learn the proper technique for cooking the sushi rice. You will learn about the different types of sushi and sashimi. This is such a great book! I love sushi, though I have never been good at it at home. :) I love this book. It gives you a complete history of sushi, where it comes from, and how it has changed over the years. There are several different types,and this book includes skills on how to make this, as well as recipes. This book also goes through the specific technique on how to make the sushi. It also gives history of how it has changed as this tradition has moved through countries.

This book is simple and provides great information for someone new to sushi. Highly recommend this book. Covers all topics...equipment, proper fish, recipes, etc

Bought this and a sushi making kit for my 15 year old sushi loving son. He's made sushi twice with it and has learned how to smile again!
