While this carb may fit a ryobi RY253SS, the gasket in the kit doesn't fit the carb or the engine. The smallest hole in the gasket is so misplaced it will not line up with the air transfer ports between the carb and engine. This can be corrected by putting a small hole in the gasket where it should be. After that, the carb works fine. If you have purchased one of these and find your weed eater will only sort of run on half choke, have a look at the imprints on the gasket. The holes on the carb and engine line up, but the gasket blocks them off. Those holes are important for proper operation. For the price, it's OK. If they were to fix the gasket issue, it would be a bargain.

We have a vandal neighbor w/an injunction that stops him not 1 whit. His newest tricks are to mess w/security camera cables & get on our porch to mess w/lawncare/ generators.We've installed more & better porch door locks now.This carbeurator replaced the one full of shoe goo that we found after both of us had to work one day.Can't prosecute unless we physically or camera catch him.A matter of time.

Worked great. I had to adjust low idle but that was it. FYI with any of these kits use the provided gaskets! The original rubber will harden and not seal properly. A little work but in 30 min. My Rioby power head was like new! 2 fuel filters and 2 extra priming bulbs you can problem fix 2 or 3 power heads with one kit. Good deal.

While I appreciate the completeness of this carb kit, mine will NOT run correctly. It's starving for fuel and will only run while mostly choked. It can not attain anything but a stable idle.I've even purchased the carb adjustment tool and it won't tune. I'm going to end up rebuilding my OEM unit which is what I probably should have done in the first place.

I was going to replace my weed wacker, a home depot Ryobi. I went and bought a new one. I figured for about $15 dollars what do I have to lose. Installed the carb and a small adjustment later, good as new! And it has been running great since. I saved about $130.

Ryobi has a weird size fuel hose line. This fits perfect. I cleaned the carb completely but could not get it to run. Figured for the price, I would try this before scraping. Fired right up after replacing.

Perfect for the price! I couldn’t find a cheaper tune up kit anywhere. My weed eater is running perfect now. The only problem with the kit is the gasket sent with it needed to be modified. After I fixed the gasket everything was perfect!

My Ryobi 2 cycle powerhead (different attachment model) sat for about 4 years. Fussed with it for a minute before searching for rebuild kits and this one has near everything you need. Took a couple minutes to install (I have moderate experience) and, with new gas, worked like new. Did two days (around 4 hrs) and not one cut-out or issue. Spare parts and spark plug, too. Save yourself the time and just replace the whole carb.
