I have been using this product for over 10 years. I used it at first every 2 weeks, now in a single weekly application for both beard and hair at the same application( not a separate shampoo product).Here is what I have learned:There is definitely a learning curve, but once you master it you can get fantastic results . The beauty is that all hairs will not be the same color. Some reddish, some darker, some lighter, some gray- very natural looking. People tell me all the time "You never age". I just smile.As you have seen from others the compound was changed several years ago and is definitely more irritating. The way I deal to avoid itching on my side burns and upper beard and itchy bumps at the top of my scalp is to rub in a little steroid cream such as triamcinalone or betamethasone (I have not tried cortisone OTC strength)to those areas immediately after application, or better yet, beforehand ( It does not affect the performance). This works well and avoids the skin problems. Also avoid shaving or otherwise irritating the skin for a 1/2 day after application. I trim my beard before application which is more efficient. Do not leave the product on too long, especially if it is a dark color. It will look bad. Different areas of your beard and hair are more or less sensitive to the color and you have to do things in a certain order to get the most natural results. For example, I do my under chin and neck first( takes up color slowly , then my hair above the ears and scalp next, come down to chin, then side burns and moustache last. I use a comb to comb it in. You can leave gray temples, what ever you want. If you use a lighter color, timing is less critical to run into the shower and shampoo.The stuff is messy. I prefer to do it in the workshop with pliers to open the too- tight caps, a light and mounted mirror with a wet paper towel to wipe up unintended skin areas, rather than in bathroom were splatter can stain walls or grout.Of note when you use a portion of the tubes and re-open them , the product turns much darker. It can go from light tan to inky black, but amazingly, the coloration properties of the application once you have shampooed will be identical. ( Really scary however until you know this.)So if you have the time and interest you can do a really great and reproducible job at home which I do not believe can matched by a professional.Now if only the product were not irritating.

I bought this to dye my eyebrows, and it worked well. I kept it on for 5 mins then another 5 for the inner part of my brows. It did not even make my skin have a reaction. It will also seem to last quite a bit. I purchased this product to dye my eyebrows, and I was pleasantly surprised by the results. I applied it for a full 5 minutes, then added another 5 specifically for the more delicate inner part of my brows. Remarkably, it didn't cause any irritation or reaction on my skin, which is often a concern with dyeing products. The color looks vibrant and natural, and it seems like it will last quite a while, making it a great investment for anyone wanting to enhance their eyebrows... or beard

Works great, easy, fast and does exactly what it claims to. My first experience with hair dye in my 55 years and I'm very happy with the results. Took a few tries to find the correct shade but at least it's cheap. Softens wirey hair well too.

After using some of this stuff, everyone mistakes me for my son's brother!In all sincerity, this stuff does work well and lasts about a month before it starts growing out or fading out. There are several factors that will influence this such as how gray you are, how fast your beard grows, how dark you go, and how light you allow it to get before you reapply it the next month (or whatever time frame). I use the medium brown and let it set for about 8 minutes before washing it out. This gives me the color I desire, that still leaves it somewhat natural looking. Leaving it in longer would result in a much darker brown that would likely appear clearly dyed.Note that this stuff is potent. Some with very sensitive skin might find it irritating.Careful not to get this on anything, as it will permanently stain counters, clothing, and anything else.

Works really good. I have really light eyebrows compared to my hair color so I use it to dye them. They come out perfect every time. The separate tubes are really good as well because I only use a small amount at a time!

Works on eye brows, too. Any where you want to cover grey hairs.
